I just read an article that says the democrats have lost their edge in Congress and their ratings have returned to pre-election levels. No surprise here.

The NYSlimes buried the story of the JFK Muslim terrorists on page 37.

You had to get to the fourth paragraph before you found out that the terrorists were Muslims. And then you only get a quote from an FBI official saying that the men had "fundamentalist Islamic beliefs of a violent nature."

The NYT has abandoned responsible journalism for partisan electioneering. If they put the story on page one where it belongs, people might take it seriously. Then they would have to admit must we are actually threatened by Islamic terrorists. This would make John Edwards' statement that the war on terror is just a "bumper sticker, nothing more" sound ridiculous. The Times will not do anything to make any front-running Democrat candidate look like a fool. They want a democrat back in the White House.

Nancy Pelosi's wage hike endangers workers' jobs. Tuna canneries in American Samoa are looking at outsourcing labor. So are many other companies.
Pundits caught her allowing an exemption for workers in American Samoa. But when faced with evidence supporting critical condemnations of "double standards," she relented and allowed the minimum wage bill for the rest of the United States and its other territories to include American Samoa.

Business leaders have warned there will be trouble. StarKist Samoa says it had planned to hire up to another 300 workers for an expansion of its production lines, but that plan now is on hold.

Pelosi was exempting hometown companies from minimum wage. "This is exactly the hypocrisy and double talk that we have come to expect from the Democrats."

Nothing worldnetdaily says can be trusted, just like nothing Bush says can be trusted. Should I start a thread on Republican support of slave labor in the Marianas?

What's so perfect about Saipan and the other 13 Northern Mariana Islands? Primarily this: items produced there can carry the label "Made in USA" and be sold in the U.S. without tariffs or quotas, but the scandalously low U.S. minimum wage does not apply, and the pathetically minimal rights of immigrants and workers in the U.S. do not apply. There are no labor unions. Any worker can be terminated and deported at any time for no cause.

The workers, mostly Chinese women, sew clothing for J. Jill, Elie Tahari, Ann Taylor, Liz Claiborne, The Gap, and Ralph Lauren, among others. They pay so much money to obtain work and for shelter and food, that they can labor for a decade and still not pay it back. They serve, therefore, as indentured servants, sharing rooms and beds, lacking health care, and working extra unpaid hours for the reward of being permitted to also work paid overtime. Pregnancy is unacceptable, costs of it not covered, and amateur abortion encouraged.

Guess who earned $11 million in fees from the Marianas government and garment manufacturers? A fellow by the name of Jack Abramoff.

Well, the fact is those people commited no act of terror. They were only talking about it. That's some war indeed when it can be stopped by a clerk at Kinko's. The whole story makes the Bush administration look like keystone cops. Edwards is completely right. The "war on terror" is only a phrase, like the "war on drugs".

You mean like the Bush administration outing a covert CIA agent? And yes, the CIA confirmed as testified in congress that Plame was indeed covert. That's treason.

Huh? Valerie Plame went to work at the CIA offices every fuckin' day of the week for years. Anyone who cared could have known that she worked at CIA. How is that "covert"???

So, by your reasoning, no one who works at the CIA could be a covert agent? I really doubt that you have any idea what you're talking about. How do you know she drove to work? How do you know she was unable to recognize someone tailing her car?

FBI Raid on Lawmaker's Office Is Questioned

House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) expressed alarm at the raid. "The actions of the Justice Department in seeking and executing this warrant raise important Constitutional issues that go well beyond the specifics of this case," he said in a lengthy statement released last night.

"Insofar as I am aware, since the founding of our Republic 219 years ago, the Justice Department has never found it necessary to do what it did Saturday night, crossing this Separation of Powers line, in order to successfully prosecute corruption by Members of Congress," he said. "Nothing I have learned in the last 48 hours leads me to believe that there was any necessity to change the precedent established over those 219 years."

It seems that Bush's Justice Department can't even catch criminals while living up to the constitution.

Now what's interesting here is that for decades and decades, the Justice Department hasn't been able to catch criminals, ...YET... you chose to post that as if the Justice Department has ONLY failed under the current administration. See?

See how easy it is to make a sensationalist statement with bias, and have it seem as if you're telling some truth? That sucks ...that sucks giant donkey dick that anyone would make such a slanderous comment as that without being subject to punishment!

And if you want the real reason that the JD can't catch criminals now, it's all due to the fuckin' restrictive, hampering bullshit, liberal, doo-gooder laws that have handcuffed the cops completely.

Why do you hate America? Because without those restrictions on the Federal government, it would be totalitarianism.

...LOL! Spider, there's a very big difference between applying strict, democratic, law-endorcement techniques and totalitarianism! ...LOL!

Sounds to me like you're guilty of the Baron Max "Slippery Slope to the Max" syndrome. Have you been studying my methods or what?

But just look what we have in this country now ...high crime rates that are climbing higher and higher. And all the time, while this is happening, we allow more and more restrictions on our police and law-enforcement. Don't you see a connection?? At all??

This thread is about MORE LIBERAL HYPOCRISY.
If you want to start a thread about Plame, go for it. I would LOVE to discuss that sham of a case.
I especially liked when she appeared in Vanity Fair.

They will, they will. One thing at the time.
On the day George the Wonderful, W, Bush got in his office (with some help) there were just over 30,000 official lobbyists in the DC area. Now they have been more than 200,000 registered lobbyists who now have 2.5 times more funds at hand per lobbyist than they used to have before. This is loosely 15 times more money flowing from large corporations, oil producing radical muslim countries, other "interests", into the pockets of "decision makers".
This I would call a step in the right direction. A step towards democracy just like the ones Iraqis are making. We used to have 30,000 people making decisions before, now we have 200,000.
This is like trickle down political power for sale.
The ideal would be to have no real representatives or elections, but on the Bills we are interested in we can pay for or pay against those. The more you pay, the fatter the pork...eehh.. the better the chance.
It is true already and has been for decades, a wealthy "US enemy" can fly in and out of the country, stay in the best hotels, slip a check into the right lobbyist's pocket, slap a few American servants around and enjoy more political rights than a one legged 9th generation American vet. waving his empty hat at bystanders in a corner of DC!
He might even get arrested for "impeding traffic" in a DC sidewalk, as the Bin Laden family convoy is about to exit the Hilton and all streets must be cleared while they are driving to their private plane parked at the US Air Force base.

This a government of, for, and by the dollars, one god under one franchise, .....blahhh blahhh.. please all stand up and wave at the flag as they are transforming it into a swastika!
