You know, I agree completely with your point here. It is certainly not exactly the same, but I have a similar reaction when people say you must vote. Like it's good regardless. I mean people voted for Hitler. I wish many had been poor citizens and stayed home. In fact, they would have been better citizens if apathetic ones. (I use Hitler, hoping to find someone we would both agree not voting is actually better than voting for. But if my example does not work, think of one that works for you)
