Oh yes. Always trying. It's ultimately less painful to try.

Not quite. I am trying more as far as my real-life goes. However, since school started I have slacking a lot compared to how much time and effort I put into using the Internet.

the world seems to fade into this fuzzy sort of reality...no apparent dreams...thoughts just of dreaming of future. Its not that I try not hard but that the world seems like it will lit on fire soon.

Yeah, but that's 'cause someone else is fighting the "good fight", too ...which is directly opposite your "good fight".

I'm retired now and don't fight anyone or anything ...and it's not only wonderful, it's WONDERFUL!

Baron Max, before they ban me again might you explain how you came to be retired, how you went about accomplishing it properly, etc. I wanna retire someday and feel WONDERFUL too!

Ya' know all that money that you're now "wasting" on frivilous things? Save it instead of spend it, then invest it wisely and you'll be amazed at how quickly it adds up. And don't be saying things like, "But I need "that thing"!" or "But I want "that thing"!"

Remember the last computer equipment you purchased? Did you really need it? How 'bout those new clothes? Shoes? New car? Trying to impress a date by taking her to some expensive restaurant? Where's all that money now? Who is retiring on the money that you've wasted?

I could have retired at 52 but didn't pay enough attention to my overall worth. When I finally checked on it, I was 54 and retired immediately.

Yep, it is. And after all this time, I've come to the conclusion that if everyone paid attention to only what affects them directly, and quit worrying about things beyond their capabilities, the world would be a better place for us all.

If the African continent sank beneath the waves tomorrow, would it actually affect you directly? Probably not .....so why worry about it?

If Europe suddenly disappeared, replaced by ocean water, would it actually affect you directly? Probably not ...so why worry about it?

Oh, I know, you're gonna' make up some silly deal about how Africa or Europe actually can affect us all .....but remember, I said "directly". In time, everything affects us in some way ...however minor. But it's also true that, with time, everything has always worked out, ain't it?

Remember some of the old world issues that, at the time (say 10 years ago), seemed horrendous and insurmountable and catastrophic? What are they now? And did your worry and concern help any to fix them?

I'm not making up any silly stuff about effects or whatever. I agree completely with you.

Now if we could just make everyone else agree, then we could all enjoy life and be happy. And we could probably help those near to us, too, without having to involved the fuckin' government and taxes, etc.

But I had a feeling that could see through all the shit-storm of sensationalistic newscasts .....and this silly discussion site, too.
