Sylar indicated that he had figured out how the room worked so it is possible he turned the room's effect on her. It appears that Sylar looks at the Heroes brains and figures out how their abilities work.
She had to shut down the rooms capabilities in order to use her power. With nothing canceling their powers, both of them could have used powers.

This ep. struck me as filler, great filler though...a little history, a little catching up and a little prediction. That guy who did the red energy with his hands...I guess that's the guy who causes Peter to blow up? But why is the invisible guy laughing in the premonition?
SPOILERS Mr. Bennet knows something about the chimes that idiot hung up, and never took down. Claire wants to meet her mom who is a pyrok. Zach has become her friend again. What is the significance of the manatee. Milf is in a holding cell on tranqs to keep Jessica down. Oprah gives Milf the ultimatum. She is trying to force her to bring out Jessica. Unrealistic behavior for a therapist. Sylar killed Hank, and escaped. I wonder what will happen. Mohinder and Nathan are looking for Peter. The police are finally taking Mohinder seriously. He finds out Eden is a spy, and she died. Mr. Bennet wants Mohinder to help, and gives him a card. Did anybody call or check the website? Primatech Paper Company. Peter is getting help from the invisible man who seems to know something. Peter is on a mission regarding his prophetic visions of oh blowing NY. Ted Sprague, hiding in Nevada, killed a bunch of OWN soldiers. It turns out that Mr. Bennet kidnaps people in order to implant some sort of device that allows OWN to track the mutants. DL gave the money to Mr. Linderman. The messanger, Aaron Mouske, claimed that the Hawkins family is in debt to Mr. Linderman for stealing the money in the first place. Micah robbed the hell out of the machine and who knows how many more. DL is finally getting ready to beat him silly which has not been happening often enough considering how that brat has been talking to him and acting up for many eps now. Matt tell's his wife about his powers. They are having a baby. He and Audrey are supsended from work for raiding Mr Bennet's paper fasctory to no avail. Molly Walker has not been mentioned. Hiro is captured by his father who happens to be super powered Japanese mob leader of some kind. For some reason, Hiro needs an ancient sword with the RNA symbol on it. He finds out the sword is with Mr. Linderman. They have to go back to Vegas. Simone will help them. Mr. Linderman seems to know something. He tends to have a great interest in Isaac's paintings. Isaac is finally clean, and ready to get back with Simone. Mr. Muggles knows too much.

Yes I was shocked as well. I had some sick vision in my head that her real father might have actually been Mr. Bennet. So after all of this time she finds that maybe he -is- the father, and maybe he had some kind of an ability that we hadn't seen. But no..........they brought my daydream to a crashing blaze.
Actually fLuX, I had the same thought...and it may have been better if Bennet was actually her father - it would have added lots to the intrigue. Petrelli was a good second choice though. Looked up the plate...I'm so pissed I missed it Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! great stuff. And who knew they'd get the 9th "Doctor Who" (Christopher Eccleston, I believe) to play a part, I didn't recognise him with the beard at first.
The license plate is ncc1701. That's the huge number on the Enterprise. What's with all the cameos? Even Stan Lee appeared as the bus driver when Hiro was leaving Ando. Claire found out who her grandmother was. It turns out that she was the one that Hatian was talking about when he told Bennet that his instructions come from somebody that superscedes anybody in Claire's life. Who would have thought? I want to see a flashback with mom and dad Petrelli, Linderman, Claude, Hatian, and the rise of OWI. The origin of Linderman and the Petrelli's need to be explained. So does Claude and Hatian working with the Petrelli parents. Origin of OWI also needs explanation including Hiro's father, and Julia Roberts's brother. Also: Simone's fathr and that building. Candice. What Sylar does with those brains. How the hell did he escape both times from captivity. Real names for Bennet, Hatian, and DL. Origin of Mohinder's sister. What is the status of Sanjog and Molly Walker? I don't understand what Hiro did when Hope shot him at the bus terminal. Claire is in NY now with grandma. So is Hatian. Bennet is in trouble with OWI. Ted and Matt are captives of OWI. Ted is being kept sedated. Candice is Bennet's evil partner. It appears she can a shape shift, but probably not. It seems more as if she can create illusions of herself and the surrounding area. Hiro now has the sword, and is back with Ando. Together, they tp to NY in the creepy future. Claude is upset about getting found out, and decides to leave Peter. So he disappears. Mohinder finds out about Sylar. Sylar then pretends to be taken down, but eventually escapes and attatches Mohinder to the ceiling. Sylar seems to know something about Mohinder's sister. Peter attacks Isaac for no reason. Isaac starts shooting, and Simone gets killed. Peter runs to Nathan, and finds out that he is working with the FBI to catch Linderman. Then he runs away again to Mohinder's apartment where he encoutners Sylar who tries to open his head. It turns out that Nathan is an FBI informant. During his trip to set up Linderman, Jessica killed the only 2 agents that knew who Nathan was. Then she proceeded to kill Nathan, but Niki took her body back from Jessica. She told Nathan what happened, and to knock her out. Nathan knocked her out cold. Niki is superstrong, but not super invulnerable. Nathan met Mr. Linderman. He was going to kill him, but decided not to. Perhaps he wanted what Linderman had to offer. Perhaps he thought killing Linderman was wrong. Perhaps he was scared to kill him because trouble would arrive, and he had nowhere to fly away. DL has a huge pile of money that Micah took from the ATM machine. DL and Micah try to live a regular life at home not knowing Jessica has taken over Niki's body. Isaac is left with Simone's dead body. The police arrive looking for Simone, but Candice and Bennet show up. Candice uses her power to make the police think that Simone is alive. Isaac must continue to paint. A cleaning crew will deal with the mess. They set Simone up to be in Europe. Candice disguised as Bennet's wife finds out that Bennet has betrayed the orders of OWI, and has allowed Claire to escape. Hana is back on the trail. She is now in contact with Bennet and Hatian. Audrey is off of the Sylar case, and back on regular FBI duty.
I think Sylar and Peter should have a big showdown as the first episode. Both Peter and Sylar have a multitude of useful powers. That skull injury won't last long on Pete.
Heroes is perhaps the best show on TV. AND FINALLY-- a show-case show-down between Sylar and Peter! ~String
I had an interesting thought while watching the last episode. Hiro in one of the first episodes comes from the future to speak to Peter. He tells him that he looks "different without his scar". So if Peter has adapted the ability to heal himself, how could he have a scar in the first place?
This is a thought many people had. Also why Peter has yet never used his space/time manipulation power. Take a look at Doctor Who. They have already finished 2 seasons. The thirs season will begin this month.
