Thats not the problem, thats more like a situation. Diamond companies are what they are...companies, and companies are in business to make profit. I bet you African companies do the same to other countries. A company's influence is marginal to the common agenda and development of a nation. Most foreign oil companies in Africa and all other countries pay for the oil they drill, some of them are on contract by the government, but most simply pay huge amounts of money for the oil they drill; that's what made Many Oil laden countries wealthy. Africa's problem is mismanagement, very little revenue gets to where its supposed to do, war and ethnic seperation isn't helping the case either. You can only do so much with oil and diamond revenue. Without innovation, managemnt, vision, and participation on the global market, you are only on borrowed time. Nigeria used to be wealthy back in the oil boom of the 70's but failure to progress in the world market led to an idle economy, by by the way is based mostly on agriculture, and oil today. Right from the birth of England they (english) have always had very little natural resources, but ideas and productivity makes up for this. The problem with Africans is that they don't want to get off their feet and decide what they want to do, they are no reliable leaders, and very little education. The way the world is also structured isn't helping; monetary rates, interest rates, and the so called world financial institutions (which by the way is made up of a board of developing countries). Some African countries need to realize that the world is a competition and not a playing ground, they have sold out most of their culture, people, education, and idea. Supernatural things still occur in Africa, funds can disappear with absolutely no trace. Anyway there is still a lot of time and chance for further developemt, I wouldn't worry, nothing was build in a day.

African states need to develope and manage innovative productivity in all areas. There is case for a need for this expansion, which is why In Africa whenever a dictator goes on a personal spending spree the economy collapses. You can't build an economy on such a premise. Depending on one major resource is the formula to bankrupcy in any form of business. Education is the key to achieve anything, education is the only way you can defend yourself. Africans always like to do things "naturaly", they need to discad this idea and get a better world view.

But ...is central Africa the only place on Earth that has the same or similar problems as they do? Aren't there other places on Earth with the same problems ...perhaps even in the recent past?

Or is central Africa the only place on Earth that's ever had widespread poverty, unemployment, sickness, starvation and widespread violence and death?

Perhaps if we examine that a bit more thoroughly, we'd find some answers, huh?

Ireland. If Africans had white skin, you wouldn't consider them anything special, just a part of the world where modern inventions and institutions haven't fully taken hold yet, like in Alabama or Siberia.

 

This is off topic but... why should they? Anyway are they trying to have sex with the white man? Or maybe they are just looking for more liveable conditions? To be honest I don't know but I know that your sentence is stereotypical and cannot be further away from the truth. I personally, not racist, but in my own perfect world white people wil live in their countries and black peole will live in theirs, there will be no race mix or pollution. I hate to live in a country where you look at one person one minute, only to look at another and see another color, i don't fancy that idea. The whole idea of mix..but...segregated society is a little more than disorganization and hipocritical. My greatest fear is a total blend of the races, eliminating them and creating a new race in the process, at that point there will be very little mystery left in life anymore.

As poorly as blacks say they are being treated by white folks, you would just think that they would want to move away, instead the exact opposite happens.

Africa's curse got to be the equator, being at the west side of a huge landmass leaves it dry, as for low IQ being linked to ill health, ill health can cause lower IQ.

 

No....the white woman. It's a commonly known fact (Use search function, there is a thread on that exact subject) that black women are the least desirable and the bitchiest out of the females of any ethnicity, and to your average negroid male nothing's better than a nice plump blonde.

Western Europe, in the early middle ages. In that period, spanning about six centuries, Western Europe was intellectually stagnant. A pretty hard place to live in, with starvation, competing tribes, and disease being the order of the day.

Only in the 12th century, Western civilization started to gather momentum in Europe. It took another four to five centuries, before Western Europe started to emerge as a world power. So, you understand that we are more or less "new comers". Before we took center stage, a lot of civilizations went through their cycles of development and they were certainly not spawned by the hands of, what you'd call, "the white man".

In Africa, e.g., one of the most profound ones must have been Ancient Egypt. More contemporary, but still well before the rise of Western Europe: the Carthaginian civilization. You could have found ancient centers of philosophy and culture all over the planet, if you searched for it. India, China, Japan, Iran, and huge parts of South America, all have known their grand civilizations.

Personally, I take comfort in that. When our civilization will have faded away, chances are that at some point, somewhere else, on this planet, a culture will rise again and some one, somewhere, will study our achievements in our time.
