Simple question?

I have noticed that there are a lot of accusations on terrorism, and that we seem to know or at least have an idea who is terrorizing whom? I believe the 911 attacks really happened and were perpetrated by Islamo-fascists. We see a lot of tapes by Bin-Laden and his henchmen condoning attacks on America and affiliates. Now here is the million dollar question; something that has totally been left out of the media amidst all the affray and infotainment capers. You never see anybody or any news media addressing why certain groups of people would suddenly rise up and decide to conquer the West. The unanswered question is why would anybody decide one morning to attack America for any reason at all? The war on terror is like leaving your house one day only to come back and find out that your house has been broken into and your TV smashed to pieces, no theft, just destruction. When any sane home owner finds this out and reports to the police (UN sec council), the sane thing the police should immediately ask is “ why would anyone want to do this to you?” You never see any of this in the media. Now we know the general theory we have been given for the war on terrorism is that many people are jealous of America. I find that hard to believe because anybody with enough intelligence knows that if any country really really likes the ideas of the U.S all they have to do is emulate them, but it seems certain countries are too busy fighting oppression, and in fact certain countries keep their own ideas. There is an old adage “when you have a faulty pipe fix the problem at the source before buying a bucket”. I agree certain people can rise from no where and decide to rule the world like Hitler did, but Hitler knew what he was going into and he had an equally powerful army to match. It seems to me something is very wrong with the so called war and that certain things have not been addresses, and I fear this issue may never even surface. I ask you again, and I want only adept political scientists to answer this simple question. Enough about 911 and the victims, I am sorry for them and wish nothing of such ever happens again, I lost a distant friend in that accident. Why the sudden resurrection of terrorism? Because it just seems to me that people don't just wake up in the morning and decide to kill hundreds of people for no reason.

    Well D_R !!
Nobody is going to answer your question, when you write about Hitler knowing what he was doing and using a German flag .....
And you "only want adept political scientists " to answer your simple question ....

    1) The islamic fanatics have been brainwashed in madrassas (islamic schools teaching you about the quran and informing the pupils about the bad , bad people and governments of the west - who are responsible of doing horrible things to innocent muslims ) causing them to feel hate towards US and other western countries , and making them feel obliged to serve the cause of violent muslim fractions and obey orders ........
I believe Hitlerjugend was brainwashed too ..........
Or you could go even further back in history to the hasheaters :m: (assasins) in early mideavel time ....

    2) Mr . Bin (Osama) not only had the hate in his heart - he also had the means (millions of dollars - or was it billions ? ) and ready followers - prepared to strike at the "heart of the enemy " regardless of whether they survived or not themselves - brainwashed to believe they would go to allahs
paradise instantly in case of death (and get a bunch of virgins there ) .....

So brainwashing people into hate and fanatism is the answer to your question !!!

Luckily - normal people , that are are NOT brainwashed or mentally ill - do NOT wake up in the morning and say it is a nice day for a terrorist massmurder !!!!!!!

Anyway , Mr. Bin has appeared in several videos from Al-Qaida , taking full responsibility for 9/11 - so I think we all know "who dun`it "

Knowing the reason why someone commits a crime does NOT make the crime any less horrific, nor should it excuse the criminal act. Many, many crimes are committed without anyone knowing why ...but those criminals should be tried and convicted nonetheless.

Surely this is not just your way of making excuses for terrorism, is it?

I think all we will discover in this thread is that the "freedom loving westerners" are just as brainwashed.

Yes, DR, I'm wondering when radical Islam's follow-through is going to happen and not just the annoying little stings they do. Little bombings here and there isn't going to effect us or help them win any war if they don't have anything to follow-up with that'll supposedly conquer us.

However, GWB's "freedom agenda" sure is helping their cause dividing our country and bankrupting it. So hey, looks like that little sting is swelling up into something more.

Surely you know more of US history than that, don't you?

This nation has been "divided" since the end of World War II, or perhaps at the beginning of the Korean War. We've been divided about politics, about race, about education, about gays, about religious objects in courthouses, about "God" on our money, about abortions, about stem cell research and use, about adoptions, about divorce, about marriage, about women in the clergy, about gays in the clergy, about drug laws, about liquor laws (DWI), about weight-loss pills, about the Internet, about porno, about gambling, about Internet gambling, about Nazi rights, about Nazi websites, about suicide sites, about .........oh, shit, we could go on and on, couldn't we?

The nation has actually been more divided than we've been united! In fact, now that I think about it, we're even divided over the argument about whether or not we're a divided nation!! ...LOL!

If you saw any of those tapes from Bin Laden, you wouldn't have to ask the question.

Oh, you're right, we've always been divided. However, we haven't been this divided in a long time. Right now arguments get violent. Each side hates one another with a passion as opposed to just disliking them. Hell, we have radio channels, blogs, papers, TV channels, and whatnot soley dedicated to bashing the other side. Thanks to mass media, it magnifies it all ten fold. Things haven't been this divided since the Civil War!

Well, I don't know 'bout that? What about the violence and division caused by the abortion groups? As I recall, there was a lot of violence ...moreso than now, as a matter of fact.

And what of the civil rights movement? You want violence? Take a page out of that little history book!

Forced integration of public schools? Hmmm?

No, I think the US has been as divided or moreso in the past than now ...even if the "now" is more memorable or newsworthy.

I have no idea what's really going on and not making excuses for anybody's acts. However it seems to me that the general consensual theory is hate. America is not the only super power in the world so why don't radicals attack the likes of Russia and China as well? Though its important to note that the Russians are just coming out of a war with the Muslims not too long ago.

devils_reject, Federal Security Service, the successor to the KGB,

    http://hrw.org/english/docs/2005/09/17/china11754.htm

(New York, September 17, 2005) – Chinese security forces must immediately release Sonam, a monk from the Potala Palace in Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, Human Rights Watch said. Sonam was taken from the Palace in what confidential sources describe as a politically motivated detention.

and the fact that most of the protest against these countries goes unreported, if you look for the stories you can find them, but remember that to protest these political systems can and does cost people their lives.

Those examples of division usually took place in a certain region, not the country as a whole. Right now, we basically have a 50/50 split, and this even reaches out to other countries. When has the world hated us more than right now?

But you're correct with your last statement in that there have probably been more divided times in the past, but current events are more memorable and newsworthy.
