It all depends on the reason for the occupation. Japan accepted the American occupation after WWII and it ended after a few years. I imagine if the Japanese had protested and fought and suicide bombed, there would have been far more deaths and the occupation would've been far longer.

Would they have been right to do so? Maybe. But it worked out better for everyone that they didn't.

Dunno, not American. Getting rid of Saddam Insane was probably a worthwhile cause, but there are more suitable ways to do that kind of thing. Like, invite him to a peace conference and assassinate him.

That's probably what the relatives of the estimated 45,000 dead civilians are wondering.

 

I'm sure the relatives of the 4.8 million killed in the recent Congo civil war are wondering too ... unless the relatives were killed too, in which case they can't wonder anything. And the hundreds of millions who watch their relatives starve to death because their governments are too corrupt to distribute the food aid the West is just about throwing at them. Of course, there's more than one person to blame there ... but does that make the blame any less?

There is a lot of difference between fighting the people in your own country and fighting an occupying force. e.g. what was the effect of the Oklahama bombing? Which country was attacked for that? Why was there no war on terror inside the US? (Regardless of who was to blame since Iraq was not to blame for 9/11).

And the past is not the past for children who lose a family; it is very much their present and future.

And going back to your earlier post in reference to this one: why is the US not "liberating" the people of Congo?

I was a soldier in the british forces, and served in ireland, and have had abuse and rocks thrown at me, also petrol bombs and all by kids, and yes i would kick the shit out of them,

 

What if the Irish (or better still, the Iraqis) were in Britain?
What would you do?

 

it is really is silly to debate the who what wheres about that video.

It boils down to this.

If a 15 or 16 year old kid. No race or nationality needed. Were to start throwing Rocks and bombs at you, would you go over and beat the shit out of them?

and if not, what else would you do? Spank them for being naugthy and sentence them for a time out?


Not doing anyting would merely give them the impression its ok to do it and naturally they'd do it again.
