This post was made in my online Star Wars RPG post. The player wants to see if her Ewok character can bear the child of a wookie. Would you think it is possible?
They're two completely different species. Not even within the same group. The only reason tigers and lions can mate is because they are of the same genus, Panthera, and thus basically the same except for some minute differences in behavior, appearance, and size. Wookie/Ewok crossbreeding would be as impossible as human/toucan crossbreeds.
Got a citation? The Wookie and Ewok pages seem to be missing from my copy of Linnaeus Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!.
All I know is that the offspring would be called ewookies. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Well, just look at them. They are completely different in shape and size. They're not even from the same planet.
I have nightmares about Star Trek Wars fans interbreeding, thus creating a new race of ubergeeks, who would then hold the rest of the human race in thrall forever, using a combination of advanced maths skills and bad fashion sense. Sex and all other sports outlawed; compulsory masturbation; the Gregorian calendar replaced by a bewildering system of Stardates that only our new nerd overlords understand. It would be a nightmare. I'd lead a small band of rebels, who would infiltrate the camp of the geek President, kill his guards, gain access to his personal quarters and smash his glasses, thus restoring liberty to all mankind. Does anyone want to buy the film rights?
You forgot that while Star Wars fans breed, Trekkies are incapable of it unless there is an immaculate conception.
Does the robot happen to wear glasses? If so, I don't really see a problem. Neither will this hypothetical myopic mechanoid until it's too late.
"Wookie/Ewok crossbreeding would be as impossible as human/toucan crossbreeds." Even less possible, because Toucans and humans have common ancestors, I doubt Ewoks and Wookies do
