Scum seems to imply something of no value; something which will not change the world one way or the other. Something to be forgotten and scraped off one's boots. Terrorists and such have a value... it just so happens that its a negative number. They leave a swath of destruction and an unmaking of civilization everywhere they pass.

They are not scum. They have gone through scum and come out the other side.

Terrorists only have a negative value in you mind and the minds of others. In truth, there can be no bad, only the lowest form of good. There is a lot to be said for "terrorists," specifically the "extremists" do what they think is good, therefore, it cannot be bad, only the lowest form of good, so the lowest value that they could possibly have is 0.(any infinite number of zeroes)1.

I believe the scum of the earth are the people who will not accept a simple truth, such as the rainforrests, or, society, or the presidents..

There are a lot of good people in the world. However they are not NEWS.
Would you expect see headlines like this?

"Man gives up seat in subway to old ladies every day!!!!!"
"Students work for Meals on Wheels: I find it very gratifying to supply the senior citizens in my community with their meals, says Cindy!!"
"Friendly diverse community: no incidence of racism or abuse!! "

But the majority of people in the world actually live like this and only become aggressive when their peaceful way of life is threatened. They are also the ones who form the majority of victims when there is war or terrorism. The ones who literally did not know what hit them.

What makes these people good, if not their own judgement of what good is? If they merely fulfill their own beliefs, then they are no more "good" than I. What if I believe that the good are those with the greater will and destination for survival and reproduction, as nature would dictate? How then are these who become victims good. There is no universal good, because there is no such all-being. Therefore what is good to you may not exist as good to me, and vice versa. I believe that governments should not "rule" people and that people should not "rule" land, surely your beliefs differ?

Also, all beliefs of what is good and what is bad are arbitrary.
