Dune is good, but in actual combat yet again it loses to Star Wars. It's like sicing a pitbull on a Liger the outcome is not pretty.

Dune would beat star trek and star wars in ground combat and i think they could also win in space if they could addict people to the spice.
I think that star wars and star trek both have weapons that would make it a even fight but the Enterprise is full of scientist who would find a way to blow slave one and a star destroyer up if they had the time which they would have if they went to warp.

Sorry for my spelling, grammar and lack of punctuation

More like a chihuaha on a liger, a bear, and a feral ostrich all at once, but yeah, basically, like that.

The only real downfall to Dune is that we know little to nothing about their space fleets, which makes things hard to determine in a fight. Ohhh welll, I still feel Dune would win out but it's easier to make the fight between ST and SW.

But the navigators do know their destinations and later the computers that moved people through fold space, so that's a null point. And if you look at the prequel books there is mention of destroyers and ballistas, etc. So there they do have fleets, just they aren't talked about.

Hey all. I'm new here. Star Wars wins. And I have no doubts about it winning.

A race in ST Voyager also has folding space technology that was the equivalent of a transporter that could cover 40,000 lightyears.

No, that was something else. This race was in the episode 'Prime Factors'.

Season 1 as well, Ep. 10. I remember that one - after I looked it up

    - where the race's transporter technology (called "spatial trajector") could have moved the entire starship much much closer to the Federation.

The device couldn't be integrated into Voyager however...

I don't know if this has been adressed yet, everyone, (I have only read 101 pages so far) but we have the Killik colony, which I haven't seen mentioned yet. That will add alot to SW's side, considering their numbers. I will get exact quotes for the Killik's numbers next time I post.

    1. Canon? I think somewhere in the lengthy discourse, persons agreed to keep the argument canon for simplicity reasons.

    2. Two words...bug spray

Bug spray? Oh, come on. It takes a long time to kill even smaller bugs. And these bugs tower over Wookies. And spend too much time with them and you become a Joiner. Part of their Collective mind. And must submit to their Will. Only a few were resistant to joining. And Luke Skywalker was one of them. Even Jaina Solo, a Jedi who killed one of the Yuuzhan Vong's best duelists became a Joiner and lost her will to the Killik's Will rather easily.

Usually when startrek fans start insisting that things be "cannon" what they mean is that you have to ignore all of the actual published numbers and technical specs from both sides. They usually insist on this not for reasons of "simplicity", but rather because when you look at the various official technical manuals and encyclopedias that have been published by Paramount and Lucas Arts, it becomes clear that startrek has absolutely no chance whatsoever. The simple way to determine who would win would be to look at the official numbers given for weapon and shield powers. Rather than do that, star trek fans prefer to carefully pick what to accept as "cannon" evidence and then try to interpret weapon powers from that, which is actually much more complicated!

According to the startrek technical manual each photon torpedo has an explosive power of 64 megatons. According to the Starwars Incredible Cross-Sections encyclopedia, each heavy gun on a star destroyer hits with 200 gigatons - meaning it would take about 3000 photon torpedoes to equal the destructive power of a single turbolaser shot. This indicates that a star destroyer should be able to vaporize any federation ship in a single blast, and since star destroyers are designed to survive heavy combat against similarly armed ships it isn't clear that a federation ship would even be capable of damaging a star destroyer with its entire load of torpedoes.

It's important to keep in mind that these numbers come from official publications by the authors of each respective universe. The people who own starwars and the people who own startrek have officially stated that a star destroyer's turbolaser is thousands of times more powerful than a photon torpedo. If you aren’t going to take their word for it, what’s the point of even discussing it?
