Just in time for bolstering support and ramping for the forthcoming mid-term elections in the US. Not to mention all the scandals the Republican Party has been suffering and Bush's 29% approval rate. Wow. What a wonderfully beneficial coincidence. Sorry, I'm a bit cynical about this so-called "war", the supporters of this war and politicians in general. I wouldn't be surprised if we was dead 3 years ago, or if he never even really existed. This news really doesn't affect me at all.
someday, the killer of innocents will get his. until then, he gets to enjoy 3 month golfing vacations in texas.
Ding Dong The Bitch is Dead! Now watch all the crazy fucking headcase evil loving Muslim Taliban cockroach jerkoffs start clucking with AK-47's above head - and shooting innocent people. Stupid fucking backwards 3rd world 1 hand arse wiping chota sniffers...
Yeah, Zarqawi is dead. Big deal. The Sorcerer's Apprentice has managed to destroy one broom - only to spawn ten more to take his place. See Fantasia.
This is greater than a war on "terrorism" this is a war on conflicting ideas and it cannot be squashed from the death of a leader like Zarqawi. Now I guarentee that there are 1000 other men who are like-minded or even worse than he who are ready to take a stand. And they will learn from his past mistakes (like video footage of himself in the area in which he was hiding) and become even more vicious. This is a war which my grandkids might witness (and Im 22) I dont think this will end soon. The fight for the spread of Western ideals and democracy will continue to spread throughout the muslim world and it will be meet with bitter opposition. And the Muslim world will attempt to restore its lost dominance and prestiege over the world and this process will continue until one of the two are victorious which doesnt look like any time soon. Welcome to the New World Order.
There is no "muslim world". Most muslims want to be part of modernization and a relatively small percentage buy into to the idea that there is a war between two incompatable ways of life. The benefits of modern technology and medicine are too great to pass up. I think Iraq is an example of a war about energy (oil).
The death of Al-zargawi (or whatever it is) does bring peace to Iraq (for now), but the real violence is being caused by the USA. It's the US that started the war in the first place, so they are to blame.
Exactly. Most of the insurgents have been stirred into action by the US's seemingly indiscriminate killing of civilians, heavy handed treatment and trigger-happy cowboy troops and complete disregard for the lives of the ordinary Iraqi citizens. I didn't see any mention of how many civilians were killed in that air raid. I imagine two 500lb bombs create a pretty big explosion. I don't think this will change anything.
I concur that Al-Zarqawi's death will not change many things. The levels of violence is highly likely to remain the same. It is a war of ideas, and not a physical one. Although there is difficulty in judging which side has a heavier justification.
