    Example 1:

Imagine on your way to work or school or wherever you may venture regularly, you take the path less travelled through the nearby woods for the speed's sake. Suppose that in those woods is a garden which you find nothing exceptional about. It subsumes an ordinary appearance. Now suppose that there is a system of caves which leads to a place that archeaologists would kill to find. To a place that holds the secret to life and the universe and the like. Only by surviving through the caves, can one know that place. The knowledge of this place is otherwise concealed to mankind.

One day, out of curiousity and to add a little meaning to the emptiness that is your life, you decide to take your regular excursion but this time through the caves. You have no expectations or plan of anything while in there as this is merely for the sake of adventure. You encounter untasteful cobwebs as you probe through the shadows. Finally, you reach the end and as you proceed through the exit you find yourself in the very garden. Although the garden appears to be physically the same, to you it somehow appears different.

    Example 2:

When an object, A, is in front of another object, B, they are, or at least appear, to be merged, creating an impenetrable object, A + B = C. But when we step to the side or move in between, the objects are clearly separate and we can pass through them, therefore C no longer exists.

The question becomes, why is it that we cannot pass through the objects when we observe C, even though C is not real (i.e. is C more than a block in our perception, is it a block in us and our ability to move through A and B)? If we ignore this 3-dimensional limitation of our eyes will C go away regardless of whether we step to the side or not?

(I suspect that magicians like Criss Angel and David Copperfield utilise this deception for their incredible illusions).

What about it? Example A sounds like you are either changed or are under the influence of mental trickery. Example B seems like one of those innate natural tricks the mind plays. So the question is, "Even though I see it, does it still exist?" or "Would it exist if I didn't see it?" :m:
