What's he being a jackass about? Wasn't he granted persmission to do his stunts in those cities?

Jealous that he's able to do those stunts in normally restricted places whereas the common person can't? Well anyone can. They're capitalistic societies. It's called money. With capitalism, money buys you freedom.

Heh, that's an oxymoron of a sentence. It's not pointless if he does it for fame and money. Give me some money and I'll glady put myself through some pain and danger.

Ah, I didn't realize. Why wasn't his stunt shut down by the city then? Are you sure he didn't have the neccessary permits for his stunt?

Even if that's the case, why are you still mad at him? Heck, be pissed at the city for not doing their job and shutting it down, making him a special case above the rest of the citizens. But as I mentioned earlier, in capitalistic societies, money buys you freedom. Don't hate the playa, hate the game.

To me, anyway, he's accomplishing nothing.

Possibly. Also possible is that he's David Blaine, and he has a very well-paid publicist.

David Blaine is only somewhat annoying. It bothers me when crap like this makes the front page, though. It's not important.

    It's called entertainment.

Athletes don't really accomplish anything, but it sure is entertaining and allows us to do what we wouldn't normally do but would want to. We get to see guys act like animals attacking each other. Same way we play violent video games to do what we wouldn't normally do even though we'd like to do it.

I find David Blaine's stunts to be interesting as he's pushing the limits of his body. He's doing things I'd wanna do but normally wouldn't. Gotta love entertainment. But yes, if one doesn't like it, whatever floats your boat.

I don't understand why people dislike him so much. He is just trying to do something different and entertaining while testing the limits of human endurance. Sure he makes a few $ out of it. So he should.

Isn't David Blaine just trying to follow in the footsteps of the great Harry Houdini?

to be honest shaman i find watching a man struggle desperatly to get out of something in two minutes rather than a man spend 40 days in a box slowly starving himself

Yeah you have a point. That particular challenge wasn't interesting at all.
