Just curious where everyone has their home. By home I mean "place where you've lived for a while and plan to stay for an unknown, but considerable amount of time" just so I get to put "Europe" in stead of "Middle East"

Mm, maybe we should post more specific locations, seeing that some of those are very general.

I'm Norwegian, that's the outermost of the three countries hanging from Russia over Europe, it's about three pixels on the map

It would be cool if all locations were "averaged" into one sciforums location on a 2d map of Earth. The program to do this would be extremely simple.

We did a pool on this some year or so ago.
The majority was from the USA,
another big community is from the UK,
then follows the rest of Europe, then Australia

Very few members from other countries/regions

p.s. You shoud have seperated NA from SA,
Canada is a lot different than Chile, for instance

Maybe his not to intrested in detail as Asia/pacific is also throwning as 1, or maybe since its a public pool he thougth to make it as anonymous as posible.

It's a bit of a loaded question isn't it? Where is home? I live in the US but that is not home. I was born and lived most of my life in the Netherlands but is it home? Is it Finland?

    I want statistics!

    - I just copied it from the BBC. I hope any Chileans or Australians will post specify their location here :\

    - Wherever you consider most home. Or wherever you've lived for a considerable time and plan to live for a considerable time in the future as well (e.g. as far as you know, the rest of your life) - as I said in the first post.

Home is where the heart is, which for me is a 64oz mayonnaise jar above my lab bench.

I'm in Belgium most of the year. I can't see if it even gets its own pixel on the bbc map.
Given that 3 quarters of the world are covered in oceans, the most likely result could mislead people into thinking we were an aquatic community.

(Picky detail: how do you find an average point on a sphere, anyway?)
