Wow. I was really wrong. I guess the States just buy all the funny ones. Most of the good musicians, too.

Heeeey, Alanis Morissette is actually Canadian. So it's really the Canadians who don't know what irony is. Oh thank gosh, that one's been weighing heavy on my psyche for ages.

    Damn you Morissette!

People are funny when they shed light on a situation with an entirely new (and wacked) point of view. A point of view that one would not really assume unless they are trying to be funny. HAH

humor is a deep function. Its like intuition, it just comes out of your head, god knows how. Humor is actually very complex and trying to analyse it makes you absolutely sterile. It is probably going to be the final fronteir an A.I. Can you seriously imagine a funny robot? Exactly. Don't be like a robot, and you're getting somewhere. Humor is an emotion, so emo = funny. Sort of see what I'm saying?

Canadian music generally sucks. Alanis, Nelly Furtado, Celine Dion.. my god, the list goes on..

We've got good funny people, but few talented musicians.

Nelly Furtado is good. Alanis ok. Celine is just a work of the devil.

Actually, I like it when women go on standup on Comedy Central because to me, it's hilarious how funny they're not.

That's because humor developed as a weapon/tool to disarm larger opponents or defuse stressful or potentially violent situations. Therefore it was more of a male tool.

I developed a sense of humour by getting up every morning and throwing a bucket of cold water over the wife as she lies asleep in her bed , then smoke a weird cigi or two , that puts a smile on my face and makes me laugh from time to time .

Why not give it a try and watch the smile come back to your face, a smile that disapeard years ago :m:

Humor is like a small egg nestled up your colon. Just push, and it will come out...

    Xerxes,
Many funny things are ironic, exaggerated, or otherwise unlikely/unordinary occurences. To be funny all you need to do is point these things out.

Funny people don't take many things too seriously. You need to be able to realize that nothing really matters as much as you think it does. Laugh at yourself for not having a sense of humor. That's ironic and that's funny.

I like that idea. Nobody 'has' a sense of humour. They just learn to appreciate the universes's sense of humour.

I can sum up Canadiens with one word: Snow. If anyone remembers this horrible musician, they know what I mean. Of course, that was the early 90's. Now they have Nickleback and such.

Xerxes, the best way to develop a sense of humor is to be the same way to everyone like you are to your friends.

Chicks can be funny, but usually when a female comedian comes on TV I just change the channel.

To develop a sense of humor, just do what I do, rarely take things seriously. I crack jokes about any subject, it doesn't really matter to me. Try to see the humor in everything like I do.

And don't forget Ryan Reynolds or Tom Green. Canadians are hilarious, my favorite comedians in the world are Canadian, it's one of the reason why I love cracking jokes about them. Pretty much hearing a Canadian talk makes me laugh.

With notable exceptions like Bill Hicks, The Simpsons and South Park, neither Americans nor Canadians are generally very funny. Americans have no understanding or irony or sarcasm; Canadians are the same and, in addition, have flip-top heads.

British comedy is the best. We export it all over the world. Try to be invaded and conquered more often, it does wonders for the laugh lines.
