I can understand that sentence. According to american norms I can now add Norwegian to the languages I speak. It's so silly here. When someone says they speak german for instance and you start talking german to them they answer by stumbling and telling me they don't quite understand. The reality is that they had german in high school or in college for a year or two. They can't actually speak german of course.

Maybe I should save this one for the 'culture shock' thread.

Cmon spurious I have been living here for nine years. I had spanish in school yes but I also spent almost a year in south america in countries where hardly anyone spoke english. My spanish is admitedly rusty now (since I haven't used it much in the last 9 years) but I can catch most of what I hear or read. Its not bragging, I am not rich and I don't have a doctorate

but my life has at least afforded me the opportunity to learn some language. The states are different than europe, most americans are completely isolated from other cultures. I trust you are doing your part to shake things up and use insults that fly over the heads of most people. It's sad that I didn't have a chance to show you around Philadelphia as I think you would have gotten a diffent picture of americans(not that you would like them much more but maybe you would detest them less).
On a side note I have heard tell that norweigan is relatively easy to learn for
dutch speakers and vice versa.

Also, I actually assumed chi was being light-hearted about calling you will smith, because you said you guys were having fun with your rap battle-

Also, I have said many times here on sciforums that being funny is not my gift, and that I needn't ever think about being a comedian - I was just trying to have some fun. It is hard to tell without the expressions what the spirit is of what people are saying, obviously, but I will assume, now that I know you are not joking with me, which is what I thought was happening that whole time, that you are serious.

 

I was talking about someone else so you are correct, so you can put away the continuing insinuations about my ego, if I had any ego it would be burned to a crisp after being dragged through the mud by you lot since I arrived.

There is no question I cannot rap, I wasn't attempting to even be good at it, it was fun thing to do to kill some boredom. Hence I expect critisism, but I do also expect people to realise that as a female (on wrong side of 35) that I would not be attempting to rap seriously? And so critisising me is ridiulous really as its just a joke to begin with.

I have attempted to lighten you up Cole but for some reason you seem to like stomping on my head. My sense of humour is best kept in a bottle as pretty much nobody here gets it.

Anyway all that aside, I do like your music.
