    Sounds like pretentious lazy wank.

Creating things takes effort. Destroying things very little. Don't be lazy, stop being pretentious, and create something new.

    so quick to scorn

fire is one of the most destructive things imaginable, indeed, it needs to destroy to sustain itself, and yet, it is more beautiful and indeed meaningful then most art created.

Destroying things can be mindless, or one of the most imaginative things possible

You may justify destruction with whatever you wish. But when it really comes down to it, smashing stuff just feels good.

Why do people feel the need to define what is and what is not art?
    I have never understood that.
Unless you are applying for government funding, or something else that requires you to be within some pre-defined limits, who gives a shit?
What is and what is not art is wholly subjective and should be that way.
Why the need for consensus on something that consesnsus would not affect it in the least?

    "What is art?"?
The question itself is non-sensical and pointless.

That said, I agree with phlogistician.
It sounds lazy, pretentious and simply about celebrity and fame.
Do things to shock people and make them talk.
Then again, isn't that what the majority of art has been since Warhol raped the concept of creating art and began simply creating products?
(I know that sounds contradictory to what I just said, but it's not. What art is is subjective, and because I don't consider Warhol's shit to be art does not mean it is not. As I said, it is wholy subjectove and should remain as such.)

    Nature is creative. its creationING.
but.....in this freedom a mindset has come about that wants to destroy. war, oppression, genocide, ecocide.

so WHY DO yu want to destroy art. what is the meaning behind it...?

Yeah I agree with one raven mostly. And destroying art is mindless unless you have a real point behind destroying the art you chose to destroy. One that is considerable. Usually that works best when you create considerable work yourself by contrast; work that should help justify your destruction of particular art. Trust me here: if you cant manage to get a good number of people behind your reason(s) for destroying whatever art youre destroying, even if the general concensus? is that its crap anyways, youre risking becoming a justifiable target for destruction yourself.
