Mmm, I don't have time to discover music. Anyone who does should get a job and move out of their mother's basement =) Just kidding... I actually have a friend who recommends his indie stuff to me. I like Wolfe Parade..I'm sure you've listened to Block Party.. try out Sleater Kinney. Indie as well. Pretty interesting, I think. I'm into musicals, so I'll recommend Jesus Christ Superstar. Don't have to be religious to enjoy it; in fact many branded it sacreligous. It's fun to hear Jesus and Judas sing, anyway. Try "Heaven On Their Minds" Actually, I have a feeling you won't... haha, but give it a chance. It doesn't make you a fag, just open-minded =)

I hate to use the Brazil theme again.. but there is another less well-known band that deserves mention: Jets to Brazil. They're previous incarnation (Jawbreaker) is also nice. PS Roman if you're hinting to me you want to hear more of that southern stuff.. I have good quality rips that can be uploaded.

Bahkta...his album India all over is very interesting. Relaxing, heavily Indian influenced, lounge music. Disha...Bhakta's protege, sappy lyrics but nicely sung. Aqualung - Brighter than sunshine.....been listening to this song a lot lately. something very humble about this song. Oasis - all around the world....oldie but a goodie. been listening to Incubus a lot lately.
Built to Spill is grood stuff. It's kinda like Pinback. Download songs like, "Car" or "Big Dipper" or "Carry the Zero" or "Dystopian Dream Girl". They're all good shit. And if you wanna hear a great random song, try Pinback, "Seville" -- It'll knock your teeth out.
Um, I fixed my name for you. And, Open Parachute isn't my band, it's a friend of mine's band. Their recordings really don't do them any justice; it's their live show that makes them good. So much energy, and a huge sound. If it's not your thing, that's cool. The Fall of Troy is what I guess you would call screamo/experimental/progressive. It's too hard to fit a lot of bands like that into one single genre.
Oh gosh, sorry about the name! It's fixed now. When I said 'your music', I just meant the bands you recommended. And I know what you mean about live shows. I go to a lot of shows like that (or try to) just for the energy and sound, but never listen to it elsewhere. Even listen to live metal. But live pop-punk is my favorite.

Yeah, 60's Brazilian music got real popular here in the alternative music scene in the 90's. Here being the States.
You serious? I wouldn't be surprised if bossa nova had gained some popularity, but not late 60's/70's stuff. Varda, Like most favourites, I found them completely by accident. Thank god!
