I guess I'm brain-dead ...but then, so are most people I think. Corruption in all phases of Indian life has been around for so long that people in India think of it as normal. Indian should be renamed to something like In-Corruption-dia or Corruption Plus.

i bet you see those titties bouncing in your sleep

anyway put this in your fuzzy little brain:
With corruption rife in almost every discipline in India, including builders, diamond merchants and mid sized companies, tax officials have reported that the IT department is the 'most corrupt' department in the federal government.

Over 50 senior officials in Gujarat including tax sleuths were caught colluding in bribe taking and tax dodging cases, followed by railway forces responsible for security.

In the swoop by the Central Bureau of Investigation, a Joint Commissioner of Income tax, a consultant, a director of the Bureau of Indian Standards, army officers and police inspectors were nabbed. Bribes accepted by these high ranking officials range from $50 to $500 with others known to have raked in cash of around $30,000 and own suspiciously large property tracts.

As the conflict in Kashmir enters its fourth year, central and state authorities have done little to stop the widespread practice of rape by Indian security forces in Kashmir. Indeed, when confronted with the evidence of rape, time and again the authorities have attempted to impugn the integrity of the witnesses, discredit the testimony of physicians or simply deny the charges everything except order a full inquiry and prosecute those responsible for rape".
(Asia Watch and Physicians for Human Rights, May 09, 1993)

"The most common torture methods are severe beatings, sometimes while the victim is hung upside down, and electric shocks. People have also been crushed with heavy rollers, burned, stabbed with sharp instruments, and had objects such as chilies or thick sticks forced into their rectums. Sexual mutilation has been reported".
(Amnesty International, March 1992)

"The worst outrages by the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) have been frequent gang rapes of all women in Muslim villages, followed by the execution of the men".
(Eric Margolis, The Ottawa Citizen, December 8, 1991)

If they military were they could have been on trial already. Since they are not military they must be civilians. It is just that the US is changing the laws to make them into something else than civilians.

Then again neither the torture of civilians or military personal is allowed so I don't really understand where you are going with this anyway. Torture is torture. Terrorism is terrorism. Corruption is corruption.

Police turn highway robbers

Mr Shakeel was transporting a consignment of silver jewellery and ornaments from Pune to Bangalore when his vehicle was intercepted by four highway police patrol officers at Belgaum. They inspected the contents of the vehicle and were informed that all the required documentation was in order. They nevertheless demanded some $ 45,000 to allow the vehicle to continue on its journey.

When the driver stated he was unable to pay, the police officers took over the vehicle and demanded the driver and co driver call the owner of the consignment to demand the money. The alarmed owner contacted the Belgaum police who contrived a set up and trapped the corrupt cops. Among the robber cops was a Sub Inspector of Police.
