thanks... it's still very empty... most of what I have there so far are pics, but I am going to write weird stuff that happens to me in the blog, it should be interesting to write about the differences between Brasil and the US when I move there

I am making a photo album with a lot of my insect and arachnids... I'm making an effort to use all the correct latin species names... maybe you could help me identify them...

I suggest you buy a species identifier book. There are ones for each region and species type, very helpful and the bread and butter of any biologist.
They usually have pictures, latin names and detailed descriptions of each species.

I'm a clinical engineer, I do projects, maintenance and operation of medical devices. It's a proffession that allows you do do a lot of different stuff, and I did. I worked for a while with biomaterials in a microbiology lab, developing IV catheters, a while doing maintenance at a hospital, a while being a technician for a neuroimplants company...

about 2 years ago I made a big career change though, and went into the software engineering area... I've been working developing banking systems in COBOL for a bank since then

it's mostly for myself, so pretty much. So far my profile consists of one blog entry about Triatoma infestans, 3 photo albums (one of pictures of me and friends and stuff, one of insects and arachnids, one of my bones) and a few coments from my few friends

I am going to try and report my experience of moving abroad there... should be helpful, I've never had a journal before in my life, I have to biuld the habit

yeah... on october 2005 i went on a holiday to rio and disapeared for 5 days and got my family and friends pissed off at me, thinking i had been killed or kidnapped etc... that is same vacation where I met my husband
anyway, when I came back the world just colapsed on me out of nowhere... on the next day of work I got fired, and I received a letter from my father stating that he wanted to cut all bonds with me... after a couple of weeks of getting out of bed only to go to the bathroom, my family felt compasionate for me and decided to support me once again. I recomposed myself and started looking for a new job, but as I was taking interviews, my father persuaded me into taking an intern job at the consulting company where he worked and starting over from the bottom... and I thought why not, I guess I could use a fresh start
I already knew a lot of programming stuff just for growing up in this family, but I turned out to actually be good at it... I'm climbing fast :p

That's sad. Sorry to hear that. I can't imagine a father doing something like that to their daughter. Clearly, he must have been out of his head at the time. I hope he comes to his senses, apologizes and you both reconcile.

hahah yeah Q... it took only 2 weeks for him to take me back out of pity of my miserable state at the time
