NO TRANS FATS...

in the USA, we have become accustomed to food products bearing "no trans fats" labels, say..as opposed to no elephants! as of 2006, food products by law are mandated to print the percentage of trans fats in their product. all this seems to me to indicate corporations wary of a slew of upcoming law suits, some have already been settled.

what then do they know that we don't??

They keep getting closer to the causes of heart disease. At this point one has been pretty well narrowed down to trans-fatty acids. I've found that choosing foods without shortening and other partially hydrogenated fats yields a grocery basket full of foods that are both tasty and inexpensive.
