need recommendation for ultima

    Anyone know of a good Ultima Online type game? That is completely free?

    No "true" MMORPG's are free. There are online only RPG's that are free, but they are text based games (not really video games like Everquest or Asheron's Call).

    There are various other online only games (but not RPGs, like I think the original Quake 3 was online only). Many good RPGs can be played online. The Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series are good examples. You never have to pay to play those online with your friends. And heck, I think they support TCP/IP if I recall correctly.

    Well, I don't know of any MMORPG's that don't have that monthly $10 charge (some could come out in the future, but I think all current ones have the charge). I think 3DO made a couple awhile back, but I believe they closed down, not sure.
