It seems very unscientific to dismiss alternative theories to the cesspool based on one's personal preconceptions of reality. I mean isn't that the whole point of science. To discover NEW things, to REFINE old ideas. Since when do new ideas need to be immediately provable by scientific consensus in order to be considered worthy of discussion. Why must some moderators here be such pretentious knowledge Nazis.

Also, just because conspiracy is involved, that doesn't automatically make the theory false. Don't you see how that elementary reflex to condemn conspiracy theories makes it all to easy to conspire in one, and get away with it unnoticed?

I presented the very verifiable argument that the sun is brighter than it used to be. It's not a conspiracy- just LOOK AT THE SUN and see for yourself. I also presented the idea that I haven't seen the stars in a very long time- that's also not a conspiracy- LOOK UP. I also mentioned the idea that the sky is being inundated with aerosols everyday. This is also verifiable by any person with his head not up his ass. So my thread gets sent to the cesspool? Where's the fun in that? What's the point? If there are those who want to discuss the topic, then leave it alone. Let the thread die a natural death. Get off the power trip because you don't know as much as you think, and believe it or not, the title of moderator does not make you the gatekeeper of all knowledge!

How can "looking up" verify that the Sun is brighter than it used to be, unless we are comparing it to when we cannot see it, in which case--yes--it's "brighter than it used to be" about 9 hours ago.

    How about being evidence-based?

Conspiracy theories, by their very nature are unprovable. Again: evidence.

You speculated wildly. And chemtrails ARE a conspiracy theory.
Oh yeah, if these "chemtrails" are there and they block out the light from the stars how is that the Sun seems brighter? Explain how, on the one hand, more light is getting through, and on the other no light is getting through...

    By aircraft? Wrong.

My advice is to get over it. It happens, get up and move on.

Good advice. I just needed to say it.

Here's what really bugged me about getting cesspooled:

I don't just troll around these forums all day writing random thoughts, shooting down other poster's opinions, forcing my opinions in other people's threads, or trying to outsmart fellow posters and make them feel stupid- like so many posters here do. I only come here when I have something on my mind that I actually would like some intelligent feedback on. It just so happens that anything I find worthy of posting also does not fall into the category of accepted science, which to me is the whole point of talking about it in the first place. I could come here to simply be a defender of accepted scientific facts, but that's boring and it's really just a way to show-off one's knowledge base- fun for some but not for me.

I'd just appreciate it if the moderators here would just show a little more acceptance and courtesy, in the spirit of what sciforums should be all about.

You're absolutely right matthew809. The type of reaction you're experiencing to your posts is caused by a rather serious mental illness I have identified as dywydreadonlyalphanumericanism. It's main symptoms include:

    Nausea
    Indigestion
Extremely boring life that leads to fringe science/pseudoscience thread trolling
    Diarrhea
    Inability to think for oneself
    Angina
    Syphalis
and a nauseatingly high opinion of oneself

It is speculated that the principle cause of dywydreadonlyalphanumericanism is a tiny penis inferiority complex but the tests are as yet inconclusive. Further studies need to be performed.

It is a terribly debilitating disease which causes the victim and those around them much suffering. People suffering from this disease should be pitied, not resented. Some headway has been made in treating patients with dywydreadonlyalphanumericanism by taking away any mod powers or naive respect they may be given and ignoring them for the most part to allow for introspection to set in and hopefully lead to a realization of their condition.

I hope this was helpful for you. It is a terribly underdiagnosed illness and the more awareness people have of it the better are our chances of getting these victims into treatment.

Hmm, and why, exactly, would you name it that since neither myself NOR Alpha had anything whatsoever to do with the locking or the Cesspooling.
Are you subject to knee-jerk reactions much?

No, no, no... It was a simple matter of misspelling - it should have been written as "disantiestablishmentaridywydreadonlyalphanumericanism" of course...

Silly people. Also known to cause headaches, in addition to stateofmind's observations....

Many illnesses are coined after the names of the first known victims. And because I secretly love and want to be you guys.

Your thread got cesspooled because it was a load of old bollocks kid.

Easily refuted, or even better, easily not made, if you'd even bothered to check a few facts.

See example 6, the ``fallacy of the good old days''. For example, global warming activists point out that the Canadians who live in the arctic circle say things like ``in my day, everything was covered with ice''. This is a fallacy, until they back it up with some quantitative data, which may or may not exist.

Also see example 9, appeal to pity.
