im guessing they're not that new... but i just found them and i love em!!!!!

Flogging Molly is awesome! they are *i believe* a nine piece band with some irish origins but they have all lived in america for a while. "Drunken Lullabies" is their best cd, but "Swagger" is ok too. Check out the songs "What's left of the flag", and "Rebels of the sacred heart". I think thats what their called, i don't have it in front of me.

Also, if your into the whole celtic/irish-punk fusion, you might try the pogues and Dropkick Murphys. ;P

nope, they're not new. you'll have to download some dropkick too and maybe black 47 but they're a little different. let's see, what do i know? i know the lead singer looks like a lepruchan. bouncing souls plays a little irish influenced music too i believe.

the little music i can find to d/l of them is all very muffeled and live sounding... is that how it sounds on their cds or am i just getting really lousy versions?

Hmm..not sure, but i'm guessing Dropkick Murphy's, because it sounds more like a DM song what with the drinking and fighting. If it has bagpipes, its DM, if it has a fiddle, its flogging molly. They're both awesome, so does it matter? ;)
