is it just me or is msn 6.1 screwed up? the past few days i've been getting :-

We are unable to sign you in to .nwet mes S. Possibly because of a problem with the service or with you interenet connection. Please make sure that you are connected to the internet 0x81000301

And i can't figure out why. I know other people can get on, and the network has had trouble, but i've been trying to get on for about three days now constantly and it ain't working. Any ideas?

The only thing that comes to my mind is probably your firewall blocking any connection attemps from MSN messenger.

Either that .... or you'll have to do a uninstall/re-install of the program ... which is how I fixed my problem with MSN mnessenger the first time I installed it.

fi'm reinstalling 6.0 atm, just waiting for it to dl. I accedently deleted the entire nortons last night, so i don't think its that. One day it was working, a few hours later msn refused to let me on. I can't remember installing anything or changing any settings

Happened to me too for a while but then I think it was my firewall blocking an ip range. I'm using Trillian Pro though..

MSN sometimes work in mysterious ways, never for the better.

My 6.2 is fine, but I still have the old version (version 5 or something) that came with my computer, and it refuses to shut up and accept it is obsolete! It sometimes signs in instead of my 6.2. Any help?

    Tools > Options > Preference

Under general settings ... uncheck the "Run this program when Windows start" box. That should prevent the older version from starting up without your consent.
