Both concepts are human in origin. Men imagine a god that can make worlds - but can't imagine him truly superior.

As a maker of things, if my work is acceptable, i put it use; if unacceptable, i destroy or amend it. Blaming the work for my mistakes would be more than unfair: it would be irrational.

The human's relationship with his own creation is vertical: from me down to the thing i produced; his relationship with another human is horizontal - from me across to an equal, you. The judging and correcting of antisocial behaviour is a function of every community. Personally, i disagree with many of the laws and punishments that currently prevail in my country. It's one of the better systems, but could still be much improved.

"It could be more reasonable to accept the characteristics of someone you love and not interfere with them. It would be reasonable to respect them and refrain from punishing them for who and what they are"

O... so its you'r position that it woud be un-fare for God to punish us for behavin the way he created us to behave... but do you thank people deserve the punishment they receive when we find 'em guilty of a crime.???

God gave us free will... what coud be more reasonable than that.???

      Hi, Scheherezade -
I have been a writer of sorts, among other things.

The book business. We started it after retirement, using the resources at hand: about 2000 books, a house too large for two and 2 computer. We sell used books on-line, through the best-known venues: Amazon, ABE and alibris. We go to auctions, library sales, church bazaars and thrift stores to collect stock. 50-60% of our acquisitions turn out to be worth listing. We carry an inventory of +/- 10,000 volumes, which was built up over 5 years. Sell an average 5 books a day in the good months 0 to 3 in the bad ones. The profit margin is small, but adds enough to our pension to support the feline horde.
We'll phase out gradually, as we phased in.
Hm. That sound like life itself...
      Cheers, J

Though generally optimistic and of sunny disposition, in recent years, i have been growing discouraged about the path my species appears committed to following all the way down.

philosophy, language, writing, art.... and cats, lots of cats
