I think A is well-off. Money serves as insulation from all of life's little problems. In fact, it makes them little, whereas, to people like me, they are OHSHIT crises...if you have money to throw at problems,they magically go away! whee!

Or maybe I'm just not all that clear on how specifically their coats are "water-resistant." It seems like, while the water doesn't necessarily "penetrate," it just sort of hangs on them nonetheless. Wouldn't this just freeze up almost instantaneously in lower temperatures, and possibly impede their movement and lower their body temperature? What am I missing here?[/COLOR][/I]

The line of Alaskan Huskies, while they had some Black Lab and Border Collie, were sufficient generations removed from purebred lines of these breeds that they retained only some of the characteristics. The smarts of the Border Collie and the slightly oily coating on the hair from the Black Lab, even though their coat length was now returned to that of the Siberian Husky.

Some breeders were even introducing Saluki blood into their lines, looking for an edge.
