Such a pity you've left the Galileo conversation already - the page you linked to says that his thought experiment in 'Motion' was specifically about falling rates (two masses tied together), not falling times.

      Hi RJBeery,
I have been following your thread "Galileo was technically Wrong". I don't participate in forums anymore because I don't tolerate the fighting very well. But I thought you deserved my support. So here it is. Good job.

Mikelizzi, If you grew some thicker skin you could participate in forums once again, and you wouldn't have to just post comments on people's profiles, you could post your comments for all to make corrections as necessary. Sometimes when people such as yourself make posts, there needs to be a lot of corrections. if said individual has thin skin they tend to go away mad. Just sayin'

      Hi RJBerry,
I only found out you were a computer science major yesterday. You may recall that I have a Relativity Simulation program on the net (new server and domain www.relativitysimulation.com). I suggested the program several times in relativity threads on this and other forums but you are the only one to actually try it and succeed. You asked about the program but I didn’t give an extensive reply because I didn’t know you had a programming background. Now that I know, I am wondering if you are interested in participating in its development. The program is all my work so far. It runs as a Java Applet and uses Java Swing for the UI and Java3D for the graphics. I have no plans to make money off it. You can have a copy of the source if you like. Ultimately, I would like to get a university interested enough to take ownership and expand it into the area of General Relativity. Meanwhile, I continue to expand it on my own for the sake of science.

Neh, I appreciated there was another member other than myself who did not fall into the catagory of a purely randomized quantum mechanics.

I was moderator for Physics & Maths a while ago, but I'm not able to give it the time it requires now. I've been on a lot more than I should have during the discussion with Jack over the last week and more. Usually I'll only visit once a week or so.

I think Ben does a good job on Physics & Maths, and James as well considering he has to cover all Sciforums. Moderating is generally a thankless, time-consuming job, and you often have to make decisions fairly ruthlessly without being able to spend the time delving into the history of a thing that you know you ideally should.

But thanks. Although I'm really not proud of how the discussion degenerated. I should have been able to handle it without the ad hominems.

Hi RJBeery. I read your posts in the thread on QM vs SR and was duly impressed. Based on your background, I'm curious if you've ever thought of writing a book--perhaps on computer science? Maybe you have a work-in-progress or just the idea of a text that you'd like to write. I work for Perfectly Scientific Press, and we are currently looking for writers. We are located in Portland, Oregon, and we offer a considerably favorable royalty agreement. Currently, we are seeking authors of scientific books. If you are at all interested, please visit our website: http://www.perfscipress.com. And, if you have any questions, please feel free to email me, Thomas Reale at realett@gmail.com. Thanks again for your posts.

Keep up the good work RJBeery. These mainstreamers need to be kept on their toes.

Hi RJ (What do I call you informally? RJ? RJB? Beery??),
I have a bad habit of posting first, and making minor (sometimes major!) edits immediately afterward, and I've found that the system doesn't say that the post has been edited if the edit happens within a short time (I don't know how short, or if it depends on some trigger like another person reading the post).
I've wondered before about email notifications, and now I know - thanks!
