Well, let's see...writing, running, playing select PC games to name a few. As to Obama, I have never been enthused about him. I liked Hillary more. As well, I just posted a picture of myself in the about members forum.

Hi Norse, you have been absent for a while.
From politics I moved to religion.

I would also add that being "upper class" does not entitle one to any greater privileges before the law. Indeed, were it not the means of attainment and the inequality before the law, I could certainly agree that people's resentment of the rich was simply a matter of jealousy.

Executing humans for inconsequential crimes is (1) a waste of life and (2) undemocratic and (3) extremely unamerican. It flies against our culture and it serves no purpose and limits us as a whole.

In that police thread, where you seem to support the execution of teenaged girls whose central nervous systems have not finished developing physiologically and so are prone to lapses in judgment. :P

A little bit, it seemed. However, maybe it is just my perception.

Your beliefs seem to have swayed toward absolutes. Why?

.... Many of those pretended to advocate liberty, but, in the end, it's much like an old marquee sign on a church in Belltown, Seattle: "Liberty is not the freedom to do what you want, but the liberty to do what God tells you is right."

Replace God with "the white middle class", and it's pretty much a shoe-in.

.... For instance, for most of my life I've heard certain segments of the population complaining about crime. Ironically, those segments are often the ones whose "needs", as such, contribute to the crime rate. To wit, in my youth, many were hostile to the local indigenous tribes; in Washington, we have many. But those are also the same ones who advocated the abrogation of federal treaties with the tribes, and objected furiously when the tribes tried to advance their economic standing. It's a strange thing: These are independent jurisdictions allowed their own prerogatives ... until they conflict with what the "good" people want. Then we raid them, steal from them, and use the force of law in our own jurisdictions to suppress the desires of people who live in others ....

I would agree with the former.

As to the latter, in and of itself, such a statistic tells me nothing. However, as that distribution has come about largely through the dishonesty of politics, of course I object to it ....

Hardly. There is a right and proper, but I believe at present it transcends human faculty. Perhaps this is a limitaiton of nature; maybe it's something we've done to itself.

As to billionaires, it's not so much the idea of having money, but how one obtains it.

To the latter: Why should it bother me, in and of itself?

To the former: Goodness and right action is in the eye of the beholder.

And I'm certain the leap from A to Q makes sense in your mind. To the other, the range of people who would agree with you is striking. Jesus, Muhammad, and even a broad range of tyrants in history.

In the abstract, there is only one such thing as righteousness or goodness, but what that one thing is, in reality, is still the subject of much debate.

Truth does not reside solely in the eye of the beholder. If an event occurs, and there are six witnesses, they are likely to give six different accounts. Does that mean six events occurred? Or are all six witnesses wrong? Whatever the outcome of that question, it does not change the fact that an event has occurred, and that there is an essential truth about it.

This is the better truth to pursue, compared to whatever it is you think is true this week.

      (yawn)

Frankly, I'm sick of your pollution. Integrity is something that must be demonstrated, sir. I'm sorry if you find the truth insulting, but only you can change the truth. Or, I suppose, you can change your sense of insult. If you wish to act like a scoundrel, that's fine with me; just don't take offense when someone calls you out on it.
