this may be old news to some but i just heard about it and i was outraged. Bill Mahr was taken off of television because of two comments about 9/11 that were deemed as just too far.

First off,he said that "no matter how terrible it was, the men who flew those planes into those buildings had alot of courage to do something like that!" Now, to me, this is true. it takes alot of courage and commitment to be willing to kill yourself for something you believe in, no matter how terrible.

The next thing he said was that the people who died in the buildings weren't heroes. THIS IS SOOOOOO TRUE! Its a terrible, tragic reason that these people died, but if given the choice, i'd bet most ofthem wouldhave gotten out if they could. A hero is someone who knows they will die but trys to help anyway. The firemen and emergency people, they were heroes.

I think the only real atrocity here was not what mahr said, but the fact that the company that ran Politically Incorrect was so scared of backlash that they canned a show that has been so successfull and popular. For christ's sake, what do you EXPECT with a show called POLITICALLY INCORRECT?

    This is very old news.....

The biggest reason he lost his show is because his sponsors stopped buying advertisement for his show. No money no show. Those companies are afraid of bad reps by continuing to support this show. In this politically correct society we live in today, you can't really blame those companies.

The first comment came, I believe, after Bush had stated that the men who flew the planes into the building were "cowards". Mahr, and I agree, said it was significantly more "cowardly" (however - adventagous) to press a button miles away and send a bomb into the area you want to destroy than it is to give your life willingly for your cause.

The second comment I actually got thrown out of class for making in Civics and Government and was sent to the guidance office. My teacher insisted they were heroes and I insisted that the term "hero" actually had a meaning beyond being in the wrong place at a bad time. My teacher disagreed. Then my guidance councelor disagreed and gave me some bullshit about patriotism and going to work despite the dangers (that is, the people who died that day took the risk of going to work every day.....uhh........no). There was much problem with comments like these and, personally, I was mucho surprised George Carlin never got in trouble. Carlin did, in his latest book (Napalm and Silly Putty) a whole shpeal on how large death counts are fun to watch and such.

... or just some blind religious fanatacism. I agree on the hero thing. No one in that building died for our country. They were just stupid enough to stay in a building when the fire alarm went off. If a fire alarm ever goes off while i'm in the building, i'm staying outside the f'n building until the FD shows up. And just because public servants died saving people, that doesn't mean that every person in the country has to feel bad. They took the risk of going in there and because of that, they died. I don't feel sorry because i didn't make that decision. I don't care if the families mourn, but I sure as hell won't. and when people ask if anything will happen on September 11th, i say nothing except a bunch of people standing still for 20 seconds. didn't Napalm and Silly Putty come out like two years ago??

He always surrounded himself with such ignorance on his shows. I would become furious if i were him. I am surprised that he didn't just beat those peoples faces in. Actors and actresses (mostly) dont know shit about the world. All they care about is how their image is, and if they can agree with the President, they must be right. My, how wrong they were.

My teacher said that she would kick my out of class because I called Bush a moron and that I didnt see a point to war with Iraq.... Of course I could of said something about 9/11... at which point I did, but thats for another thread all together because that means that I have to tell yall about some head bands... It just doesnt make much sense, lets just leave it at that.

I'm farely lucky i guess. I live in a pretty liberal community and go to a VERY liberal high school, so most everyone agrees with me on things like this. Actually, the bush-supporters and war-mongers (i use the term lovingly

) are usually more chastised at my school than the liberal anti-war activists.

like i said, guess i'm lucky.

We are even alowwed to postpolitical cartoons and signs and things that are anti-bush. Many people do, buti figure there are still people who are nationalistic, and they probably don't wanna see all that shit.

    Anywho....

They should nail his ball to the floor

Bush knew, and if he didn't, then the system that worked several times before, failed.

He has pushed his agenda, drawn ALL attention to forein policy (as far as you can call intimidation a policy)

No people,....this world is one of cowards,...it's like the NAZI GESTAPO watching over your shoulder again, anything wich goes against the stream of propaganda and lies, is fierce being debunked before it even get's a chance.

    Think not: 'logic' but: 'holocaust'
