What does it mean?
1.without my own opinion about what i am learning ,as we are very young
2.or without a plan for the future ,such as job and so on, just for the fun in what we learn ?
can you give me an example, please? I can not give a firm definition to this description. Thank you !
For me it's #2. For example, although cosmology has little practical application it does satisfy curiosity. I enjoy learning about it like I enjoy reading fiction.
To learn for the sake of it:
Also: If you try to explain to a child why it needs to learn, you won't come far, as a child is unable to understand that if it learns now, and tomorrow and so on, this will bring it into a good school, and eventually to a good job. So the best reason you can give the child is that it should learn for the sake of learning.

The more I learn, the less I know! ;)

I would like to state that education is more aimed at filling of time than trying to learn something useful.

Ah, the noble aims of classical education have been perverted into teaching only what seems useful.
Originally, most of the school matter, esp. math, is there actually for the purposes to make your brain fast, and gain general problem solving strategies.
But now, we are being told that one can learn how to solve problems by simply being given direct instructions, without trying them out yourself, or, what is more, that coming to them yourself in a course of a lot of studying is a tedious and unpractical way.
As if masters could be made by using moulds.

The worst thing is that this phenomenon can be seen on all levels of education. Even at university there is no requirement for thinking anymore. Just repeat what has been said in the lectures.
The only place I got any proper intellectual stimulation was in art school strangely enough. Because you had to find your own way.
Spuriousmonkey,
Then off to art scool you must go! :)
to quote some song from some guy...
"Cos knowing is it's own answer, love something in a book"

it means you arn't learning stuff because it will get you a job, but because you are curious and want to learn about the world around you.
