that Apocalypse Now is possibley the best Vietnam/warfilm/crazy madness that is the 60s. It reflect perfectly the mentallity of the time. And is a masterpeice in its own right as a movie. --- "Saigon, shit, im still only in Saigon. Everytime im going to wakeup and think im back in the jungle" "I wake up and there would be nothing" --- I mean, making the relationship with the rotors of the ceiling fan and the choppers is utter genious.
.Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!lease Discuss:.

never seen it. my favorite war move is "All Quiet on the Western Front". "The Last Batallion" was cool too.
What do you think of the longer version that's out on DVD? I've got it and i have to say some of the new stuff works well, but some of it seems to just make the movie longer. As is it's a pretty damn long movie. I have to go with the "original" as better.
i will say its better than most. only becuase, while it turns my stomach like all the rest, it is one of the few i don't mind sitting through. ... and trust me .. we've got 'em all... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Apocalypse Now (AN) rocks. Enemy at the Gates is indeed a great Movie that describes the horror of the Siege of Leningrad well. AN is better at descibing another conflict. And yes, it describes the madness of the times. Dr. Strangeglove ain't bad either. th "I love the smell of Napalm in the morning" ed
