hey guys i really liked all of the great information found in your forums and topics. I had a question about converting videos for use on my ipod video. Im using the dvd decrypter/videora converter combo to convert. It works excellent for videos that are already .wmv or .avi, but when i tried to ocnvert an actual DVD, everything works fine, but when i go to play it on my ipod, it plays the director's comments over the film. I even went back and played the dvd AFTER using Videora and there were no comments over the movie... any suggestions?
Thanks a ton for your help.

When you made the conversion, did you delete/fail to transfer the larger bit audio chanel and just keep the smaller bit audio instead?

I used Pocket DVD Wizard, and that works just dandy, does all the hard work for me. Will crack a DVD into a file a few hundred Mb in size for watching on my PDA.
If you can't select the right audio, you could use 'DVDShrink' to strip out the unwanted channels, and then rip from the files it creates.
hmmm, I'm pretty sure I only kept the larger bit audio, but ill double check...so would i use DVD Wizard instead of DVD decrypter and then convert with Videora? Or is it a two in one program? Thanks for the help, im at school now ill check about the audio channels when i get home

DVD wizard cracks the dvd, shrinks it and gives you an output file in your choice of format, Ipod Video, mpeg, or wmv, avi, PSP, etc, in a few clicks. It's pretty cool. Only costs $20 iirc. gives Gifferent aspect ratio options too, you can download a trial that will crack a few mins from;

Mmmmm, well, somewhere along the line somethings obviously become a little bit muddled. For example, and I've found this unique only with the StarWars trilogy set, whenever I've ripped it using DVD Decrypter and recompiled it for burning using something like Clone DVD - the first film ripped works fine. The second film ripped and burned however always seems to come out with the subtitles playing over the film and no way of shutting them down.
I know, different compiling software and all that but the point is, similar sort of problem.
Just try wiping it, redoing it again - see if the same problem occurs. Ditch the original rips you made and re-rip it, start from scratch. If the same bug crops up then look at the software options.
