Just wondering...
I had a pain in my shoulder today and took a tylenol. How did the tylenol know where to go? May seem like a dumb question, but my husband and I had different theories. His was that the medicine goes where the inflamation is. Mine was that I thought it went everywhere and so happened to catch my sore shoulder.

Hi Joan of Ark

Have a look here

http://www.painforum.com/en/1/whysufferpain.html

Seems they work by preventing the pain site from producing the chemicals that tell our brain that it is hurting.

and it proves tht if your immagination and will is strong enough you won' t have a need for painkillers.

In December I tried one thing similar to this.
It was extremely cold and I had a 2km walk home.
So I figured out tht I could immagine tht it was hot instead of cold.
I immagined a day on a beach with hot sun shining and me being walking by a seashore. I did sorta succeed, for some moments I didn' t feel cold, but as soon as I stopped concentrating on the hot weather thing I felt cold again.

duno, maybe I need a bit more practise
bye!

Without painkillers you are better of. The human body can take care of itself. There are natural painkillers present in your body which take care of everything, from headache til the flue.

Because of all the artificial garbage which comes into the human body, this self-healing system is not sufficient any more.

If you should try to let your body do the work and not grab a painkiller, immediately by a headache or other little pain, you'll notice that it disappears.

Cancer and heart diseases are typical illnesess of the time being. Sign of the times, so to say. Tons of garbage, fat, sugar, artificial and modified food and drink supplies are the cause of these illnesess and that the human body cannot fix...

Healing With Whole Foods: Oriental Traditions and Modern Nutrition (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/103-8104159-1617416).

This book contains loads of information on health, diet, alternative medicine, natural food presentation, and recipes. Sections also cover the application of Chinese medicine and the five-element theory to a contemporary diet; treating of illness and nervous disorders through diet. It is not a fad book, as the recommended course is a slow and gradual transition to whole vegetable foods. (I'm not there yet. I still like to occasionally wrestle with a nice rare steak!)

Peace.

Thank you Avatar! I was searching on info about the string theory when I came across this incredibly interesting site!

Tae-Kwon-Do is incredible for a starting thing. I did 8 years of Tae-Kwon-Do getting to second poom black belt before my master returned to Korea. During my 6th year though, I started Kung-Fu and ended up carrying that for a while longer until I didn't have the time. Tae.. is great for learning how to fight in tournament form. Kung-Fu is better for the philosophical/mental end of martial arts, and is a more practical (and difficult!) fighting technique.

Then again, it won't make a difference against a gun, haha.
