Though I've only heard a couple songs from Incubus, it seems like greenday is selling out, so I'm going to have to go with Incubus. But greenday seems to market themselves better. I dont know, just my thought:)

hahah did u no incubus has a huge song called warning also? well i stick with incubus... the reason greenday markets them selves better is because they have had so many albums.. somewhere like 10 or sumthin.... but incubus still ahs the upperhand :)

Incubus has more emotional song which means something and Incubus doesn't have a frontman who sounds like he has something stuck in his nose.

They're both pretty versatile and have a wide range of different types of material. They both have some pretty good songs and some really lame ones. But despite that I wouldn't put them in the same list. The one thing I don't think they are is comparable.

I recall hearing Incubus and I remember them being whiny. Greenday sounded more lively; and, I remember seeing a pic of the guy where he had green hair. Have to prefer Greenday.

Lyrically, musically, overall feel of the band...Incubus.

Greenday is good but Incubus is far ahead musically IMO.

I prefer Incubus. In fact, Incubus is my favorite band.

If you've heard a few of Green Day's songs on the radio, you probably have a good idea of what Green Day is all about, but with Incubus, you're only scraping the tip of the ice berg. That's the thing. People have heard a few Incubus songs on the radio (Drive, Pardon Me, Nice to Know You) and think they know what Incubus is basically about. Green Day has always been a pop punk band. Categorizing Incubus is more complicated because it draws from many different genres like funk, rock, soul and metal.

Incubus are superior musicians (not that Green Day is bad). They're just much more innovative and interesting, and not to mention better musicianship from its members..

Give me an example of a band it's a repeat of. I'd say there are a lot more bands copy them than the other way around (Hoobastank, Lost Prophets, Audiovent).

I've seen them a few times and I must say that seeing them live is quite a differente experience than seeing other bands live. I'm not sure exactly why, but their overall sound is much better than most of the bands I've heard live. They sound perfect. They sound like they do on their albums (probably a combination of superior equipment, vocal processors and raw talent).

Like you, I'm also biased. I play bass and I love bass guitar, so when I hear a band that has a really sick bassist, I'm almost instantly in love with that band. Bands like Hoobastank (their older stuff when they were HoobUstank), Rancid, Flecktones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, AFI, and Incubus (there are so many good bassists out there).

What I really loved about Incubus was that part you couldn't really put your finger on, but was always there making you want more and more, and I finally realized it was the bass. Dirk Lance man. While he's not as quick and flashy as other bass players, he's definitely the coolest style. Extremely smooth and cool bass lines. He's got some amazing chops, style and creativity as most overtly expressed in SCIENCE, Fungus Amongus and Enjoy Incubus. He just never ceases to amaze with his smooth and cool bass lines.

Ben Kenny is alright.

Oh yeah...I definetly agree...Brandon's voice carries just as well in an arena as it does in on the cd. That's one of the reasons I love that band...great lyricist with a very unique and versatile voice.

Have you ever seen his live rig?...Jesus....but yeah...the song that did it for me, and convinced me Dirk is a genius, is "are you in"....the bass on that song is just...damn.

Dirk is actually a really good guitar player too. Watch the morning View DVD...he is very good at chordal shapes on the guitar

Ben is a solid bass player, not as spicy as Dirk but give him a chance.

I have seen Green Day live - Best Day Of My Life.
American Idiot is an amazing album, and all the others are amazing too. Although Incubus are pretty groovy - Green Day are definately better

They both suck. Edit: Ah, I'll admit I heard a good one by Greenday today on the way to town.

i listen to all heavy metal and heavy rock and etc.
but i only make two exceptions..
1)Incubus
2)Bob marley

and both these guys can rock out.

Greenday are definitely worse. Not only is their music shallow, but I partly blame them, amongst other things, for the “emo” trend that has forsaken schools and malls across the country. The little bastards infest the malls wearing their converse and eyeliner, and think they are hardcore, misunderstood and suicidal because they listen to Greenday and Good Charlotte.

My little sister is just like that! :) The little brat thinks she has emotional problems or something. She wants to be just like me, it's so sad. When I got into art class last year, which we must try out for because the teacher won't teach anyone without talent, she began scribbling on notebook paper and pinning it on her walls trying to convince people that it was something good. "I want to be in art class this year." she tells our mom. She also pretends to like bands that I like so people will think she is as cool as her friends say I am. Anyway, I am a Greenday fan, and it makes me mad to see people walking around like they've got something stuck up their bum, without reason. (Although the eyeliner on the guys is so sexy.)

Well seeing how this thread's been resurrected once again, I feel somehow compelled to post again (taking one more shot at the dead horse I suppose).

But, I am happy to say this topic has become thoroughly confusing since I last read it so many months ago.

I still say Incubus. Bwaha.

Oh and why, other than the fact that it is becoming almost completely indecipherable, is this thread in the Cesspool?
