And we'd be very involved with the lives of the people, make sure they don't get hurt and that they're happy and prosperous, because we just love them that much.

There will be more than just one little rock with life on it in this universe. We can have several different kinds of civilizations. It would be sweet. Also, we would give all these people the intelligence required to actually find things out about their universe, instead of making rash assumptions about it.

If I was god....that would suck. What's the point? If you live forever and don't have goals that you'll never accomplish, there's kind of no point in existing. The only reason that you're there is for the sake of being there; nothing you do will affect your fate. If there really were an omniscient god, it would seem that he/she is being tested by some type of higher being. As if he/she were given control over our universe, or even a different universe, which could in some way affect ours, in order to determine his/her true nature. Would he/she cave in under the depressing state of being all powerful and become a sadistic diety, or would he/she overcome the urge to torture others a gain eternal salvation? I'm pretty sure I'd be a sadist insuch a situation.

I don't see them as evil more as opportunistic bastards, humans have always tried to dominate or kill other people that are considerbly weaker. But this was not because their evil but because they where short seighted opportunistic bastards.
