from some sources i heard the phrase phisycsforums was the only moderated and scored out word here on sciforums.

I don't think it was ever banned nor is it banned. And I don't recall anyone saying "physicsforum" would get you banned.

It's possible that when Dave was around it was a bad thing to do...

 

Some years ago there was a little bit of a problem with some online anarchists that would appear on a forum and pretty much make out they existed on another forum. They'd attempt to have members from one forum attack the other forum in retaliation and kind of propagate forum wars.

Of course since then we've got wind of that, and I'm guessing the previous barring of the name of that particular forum was merely legacy.

 

Yes, unlike here. I remember when Greg started that site, from the get go he didn't tolerate the kooks and nutters for very long.

And since I've been recently informed that Sciforums is NOT a science oriented site, I see no reason why there would be a problem in mentioning or advertising their site.

There is http://www.thescienceforum.com anyway which is a third rate sciforums. Ever since porfiry left here, that other one is probably better.
