how to remove Opera browser completely?

    after uninstaling the Opera browser it still controls my documents,favorites and msn messenger,preventing me from opening these.
    how can I get rid of it completely??
    Im using IE 6 ,windows 98

    My guess would be to set your default web browser to IE6...I can't for the life of me remember how to do that.

    When you open up Internet Explorer, if it's not the default browser it asks you if you want it to be. Unless you already clicked not to ask anymore. It's been awhile since I've used a 98 machine. Try internet options in the control panel. Program tab.
