Okay from what I can work out, Kazaa uses certain elements of internet explorer to deliver it's webformating with the program.
This means that it uses DLL's and files to do with Internet Explorer.

I'm not 100% of the exact problem, there are problems reported in earlier versions of windows, again with similar problems where it won't install/uninstall after the first attempt.

There is mention of looking for the kazaa uninstall program which is located somewhere within your folders.

There is a mention from someone outputting a bit of a conspiracy saying "Microsofts engineered it's updates to make kazaa not work/uninstall etc"

There is a potential that an UPDATE for XP has altered something that Kazaa would have previously used to uninstall. (You might want to have a hunt round for turning auto-update off)

This leaves the option I would use but it means getting your hands dirty. You have to "Hack your registery", this means "BACKUP it first!" (Just incase you can't run the system from mucking something vital up).

Search and Destroy anything with the keyword "KAZAA" in your reg keys.

Eventually your problems should disappate, (and if you hack the reg yourself, award yourself a new skillz point)
