Well before you go Spurious, I might as well state the following:
A few weeks ago, I sent a long PM to Spurious telling him to leave James alone's and forget about whatever transgressions they have had with one another. The problem is I didn't send the same message to James too.

I do see a vicious cycle between both of you, Spurious you dig when you can and James pretty much moderates "You" every chance he gets. Is there not some way where you two can draw up some form of treaty? Where perhaps Spurious shouldn't be moderated by James and where Spurious shouldn't make little 'quips' every chance he gets. (Seriously Spurious, the quips aren't good as a Defence and just begrudges James as being seen another personal attack therefore generating a continued gripe.)

Admittedly this forums sees a lot of discussion, a lot of derailment and sometimes a lot of posts that aren't even tangents but just people posting for the sake of posting. With the latter type of people it can stress certain moderators in regards to trying to put the threads back on track and clean-up after them, This of course generates tension as the poster feels unfairly moderated and the moderator feels unfairly targeted for trying to 'Salvage' a worthwhile discussion thread.

If certain posters could keep things on topic and used just Free Thoughts for their 'Sake of posting' posts, it would remove the strain from the moderators across the whole forum and would actually lessen stress between Members and Moderators. (I know it's wishful thinking however as most like to post what they feel where ever at their discontent with such rules, but tend to neglect the tension it causes)

I would be sorry to see you go Spurious because I know you can have some valid points when you aren't over exerting yourself as a clown (Clowns can be funny ;) )

Spurious, Let me put forwards and Idea, you'll probably hate it but listen anyway. Tiassa pointed out that the warning you were complaining about was actually a misreading on your part, now I know if I go off the deep end about something and find out that I've misread something, I would feel foolish so much so that I would be hurt, hurt because all the people that I'd gone off the deepend over would be hurting too and dealing with the apologies and having people not having hard feelings is obviously something that will at the time seem beyond me.

However from experience I know to try and keep my cool, apologise where need be and tone it down a little as a form of repentance. Time will eventually heal certain wounds as long as those wounds are allowed to heal.

So I suggest you take a short break from the forums, let a few Moderator spiders make some of your 'Hurt filled outraged posts' disappear so they aren't a reminder of how you've allowed yourself to blurt your hurt onto the forum. I know we are talking about moderating/Censorship of your outburst, but I believe it's in "Your" best interest not just the forums.

If you can give it say a 1 Month break from the forum, you can come back with Fresh views and opinions and hopefully by that time those that you feel have been singling you out will have buried the hatchet (in which you can bury the Hatchet too).

Admittedly, We do need to do some changes for the "Community" and in all essence they need to be done by your return. So you can be a community clown in a community designated place, rather than being confounded, constricted and suffocated by attempted Rule sets that you feel are placed their just to confine your person.

Working on it.... honest we are. We know that people want to have their freedoms and having freedoms is what makes a community. In fact I wanted to put forwards the question of gaining help with Scivillage.com/.net However I found it difficult to put forwards an official post on a non-official community extension project where the community helps shape 'The Village'.

I want to do the project, I think Plasma likes the idea of Community expansion however there's been no serious discussion we those elements that would make up the management. I mean I could go it alone and make it an unofficial community expansion with the communities help, however if people want to have "One login to rule them all" for such a community, there obviously has to be some sort of agreement made between the project managers and the Sciforums management.


[Btw, the reasoning of Village is in no way, shape or form enduced by "the Village people", in fact it was due to Lixluke's old Scivillage thread which had a hypothetical village in which the villagers were sciforums members that all took it upon themselves to adopt particular roles.]

The simple fact is: if I wanted to ban spuriousmonkey, I could do so at any time. There is no need for me to "campaign" for his banning.

If spuriousmonkey is banned, it will be as a result of his own actions.
