I have often seen or heard women use the word 'fabulous', but never by men, except possibly gay. Are there other words with a similar gender bias in usage? How this come about?
Of course. Blond vs blonde. "Honey" and "sweetie" for women; "son" and "dude" for men. Beautiful is usually used for women. And English isn't the worst there. French has different articles - even different verb tenses - for women vs men, and many nouns have a feminine and masculine form.
?? Are you talking about gendered terms, or gendered use of terms? It seems the OP is asking about gendered use - as in: terms that men use that women do not, and vice versa.
Gender is societal in nature. "Mental gender" is gender identity. Societal norms. Women often dress differently than men.
i personally do not identify as a gender unless it is in relation to someone else or some thing so my biological physical gender is comparative my psychological gender is primarily female but my physical gender is male im not an anti-establishment type of person so im not looking to undermine & wipe out peoples culture & personal freedoms & choices however i do question gender constructs to see if & where there is an ability to go beyond that which binds us to conformity & lack of free will. in my opinion people seem to be taught gender identity & then adopt it as an exterior culture concept so there is nothing natural about gender at all its 100% culture & 100% expression. however people confuse sex & biology with gender that is the old world thinking, before we had modern understandings of more complex reality's soo technically i am half male half female some part male exterior & then also some part reflective perception of society's demands & filters the idea of being a single gender with demands of culture conformity to define my inner self is not restricted to observers pleasures & whims.
your hiding behind your comment how droll do you support same sex marriage & same sex couple adoption rights ?
fox 2p influence? it seems that women use um more than men, while men use uh more than women and when conversing with the opposite sex, it seems that women use uh more often than while speaking to women, while men use um more often than when speaking to men. but then again-------this is just in english language users .................................. you might find https://www.boredpanda.com/male-fem...ckgo&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=organic interesting
nurture bias culture bias gender bias language bias no such thing as natural cultural nurture gender bias as a cultural compliance mechanism forced ... when would they "not" be "conversing with the opposite sex" ? when they are forced i admit it seems a little pointless to point out because its like trying to explain star trek science to 1800 age/era people however, any progress is still progress
