It seems to me that nothing is out of reach for the human species as a whole, but that the way they use what they have is simply ridiculous, and if they only, just for a moment, used what they had in the right way, all of their laws and technology and knowledge, they could bring bliss to everyone without exception. This is a thread about the logistics of doing so, and any speculation on the matter is welcome.

How will such a perfect world work if your idea of perfection is incompatible with mine?

7.7 billion people would have to agree on what is equality in every form.

    Unanimity is out of reach.

"They" can't bring "bliss". You are the one who need to create your own "bliss".

The surpluses that you are thinking about (I presume) come from a system that if changed no longer creates those surpluses.

Everybody's dreaming about a perfect world
Where you could have everything your heart desires
    . . .
Well, ain't no living in a perfect world
There ain't no perfect world anyway
Ain't no living in a perfect world
But we'll keep on dreaming of living in a perfect world
Keep on dreaming of living in a perfect world

But to be serious, even if you could give people anything they wanted you'd have a lot of misery out there. Consider how many people win the Lottery and have it destroy their lives.

Pray to God... an when that fails... create a machine that will make it posible for the human species to write ther individual futures which will play out in ther brain from the program they wrote.!!!

By you having what is perfect for you, and me having what is perfect for me. If somebodies idea of perfection involves imposing something upon somebody else which they don't want though, that is where issue's may arise. For example, a parent who wants their child to do something that the child doesn't want to do. For example, if that parent wants the child to be a ballerina, but the child is really against the idea. In such cases the imposer will probably just have to give up their imposing ideal of what the other person should do.

I would say that most people have fairly similar views of what perfection is. This incompatibility problem probably wont arise very badly. What is your idea of perfection?

Who is this somebody who owns everything? I'm just kidding. I know you probably didn't literally mean that there is 1 person person x who owns everything.

I don't think they would all have to agree. In most cases one could probably just live as one wanted to live without impeding any of their dissenters, and vice versa. As for the thing about equality, I honestly don't think that equality is vital to happiness. A certain degree of financial equality might be required for happiness.

Cults indicate the contrary. However, despite the implication, I think that unanimity is not a requirement for happiness in most cases.

I pretty much have. Anyway, I am pretty sure that societal action is required for people's happiness in many cases, at least to a certain extent. It is true that one must when it comes down to it create there own happiness though, because nobody else can do it for them, philosophically speaking.

The surpluses I was thinking about may still remain at least to a certain extent if the system they come from is changed. My point is that we have so many resources at our disposal as a species and are not using them, though we should to make everyone feel better.

Happiness isn't just about accumulating stuff. It requires constant maintenance in the form of mental programming. Also, people might want much more than physical stuff. For example, love, friends, romantic relationships, security, validation, travel, talents, etc.

Happiness is fleeting and not a continuous state. Fulfillment might be a more continuous goal.
Happiness is pretty much derived from people, one's relationships.

Society can only do so much.

What group of people need to feel better, in your example and how can society accomplish that?
