That really hits home when you see it in print. Corruption, narcissism, adultery, nepotism. white grievance and grifting are the values the Republican party are reflecting.

I don't think that the Republican party has the market cornered when it comes to those characteristics. Bill Clinton committed adultery with a WH intern (lied about it under oath) and was a womanizer, and so was Kennedy, just two off the cuff examples that come to mind. The idea that one or the other party is somehow pristine without blemish, just isn't true. And for all those who have apathy towards our election process, they too pave the way for corrupt governments. Governments aren't only created by those who vote.

''The only thing necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.'' - Edmund Burke

The U.S. has become too political. Hopefully Biden and the people he picks will be better at the legislative process where you try to compromise and give some credit to the other party.

Face saving as they call it in Asian cultures has merit. Of course Mitch McConnell isn't going to help the Democrats rack up legislative wins in the current environment. Compromise, give the other party some credit and you may start to get some things done.

Don't politicize everything and at the next election you may see more cross-over voting if it turns out that the Democrats have done a good job. Democrats should focus on jobs, keeping taxes relatively low and not getting caught up in the Bernie Sanders "wing" of the party. That's a sure loser.

Most people aren't only conservative or only liberal. That would be stupid as an individual. I'm "conservative" while attempting to cross a busy street and liberal when my neighbor asks for some help.

It's only the parties that become so one-sided that it makes it hard for the other side to trust them and easy to believe that they are "communists", for example.

It's legit to worry that someone is going to raise your taxes too high or that they are going to incur too much debt for the country. When policy is based on campaign "promises" it's actually a bad and not a good thing.

It may sound good to promise to "forgive" everyone's school debt but it's bad policy. What do you think a blue collar worker at a poor paying job thinks about forgiving someone else's $50k loan?

What do you think someone who managed to pay off their loan thinks? What do you think someone who pays a lot of taxes and has never gotten anything back thinks?

All this leads to Trump type creatures. Disgusting but somewhat reality based regarding economics.

The best of both worlds is a Democrat with an economics background who is no more political than necessary and who is willing to compromise and give credit to others.

Mitch McConnell does not compromise. When Obama became president but before he was even sworn in, McConnell promised that not a single piece of Democrat legislation presented would be considered and that the goal was to make Obama a "one term president". This is the on-the-record statement by the Republican leader of the Senate, that august body which prides itself on order and transparency and above all the democratic process.

It was our good great fortune that Obama proved to be an outstanding president who took a financially ruined nation and set it on a positive path to continued growth and national prosperity.

All that Trump today claims as his accomplishments, is built on the handiwork of the Obama administration, with the help and council of Vice-president Joe Biden.

Joe Biden is NOT a reality-tv show host, he was the trusted confidant of one the great presidents this Nation has enjoyed.

Ah! What a nice thought! That will be the punch line for children's bedtime stories in the future. "Mom read the Trump story...and then what happened Mom?" "And then he went away, now go to sleep".

One little piggy had the best mind and he was the greatest leader the little piggy world had ever seen but like every other little piggy he still wound up as bacon...and that's the way it was.

I was in a virtual meeting just now and one of my colleagues who lives in AZ mentioned that they’re seeing Californians moving into their area at a rapid rate. Housing prices in AZ are spiking. I live in the Southeast and it’s crowded here. too.

I’m thinking of moving to Canada, tbh. Any Canadians here that can share their experiences of Canadian life?

I found Canada to be a most liberated country. The people there are quite cosmopolitan.

I have been to Montreal a few times and loved it but wouldn’t move there. I’m thinking Calgary or a Toronto - I have coworkers who live there and my firm does a lot of business there so I’ve been able to get a sense of their personalities etc. Canadians are so friendly!
    It does get cold, there.
