What are your thoughts on internet bullying?

It's linked directly to what you said. we are in a free thoughts forum so no one is right.

I don't mind idiots, it's people who just waffle on without a single original thought just the intention to get the last word in, completely pointless discussion.

with regard to opinions or subjective material, this is true
with regard to scientific facts, it doesn't matter what thread you're in: to ignore something that has been repeatedly validated is just plain idiocy. it's like saying the earth is flat and the round shape it makes on the moon during eclipse is because of faerie farts - the person who will debate that as being factual is an idiot.

I believe there are Laws nowadays that bulies can be charged and prosecuted IF you know who they are.

Most bulies aka Trolls are cowards,losers in life only geting their jolies from anoying others.
If you ignore them,they have no fun DNFTT

this depends on the State (in the US) or the nation. Prosecuting across national boundaries is problematic at best, and likely won't happen, unless there are laws in the bullies nation about prosecuting victimless crimes or strong bullying laws.

In the US, some states have bullying laws and some don't. Certain states don't need them as they have strong defamation and other laws that cover the topic already. This also requires the bully to be in the state as it's not always prosecutable across state lines, depending on the circumstances and the result of the bullying (for example: a suicide due to bullying is prosecutable across state lines under federal law, depending on circumstances).

this isn't always possible in today's culture. Even in the US, you're recorded on camera more often than you know and your data is widespread more than you can imagine. (farcebook, twitter, shopping cards, gas cards, membership cards, etc)

 

I score 1 out of 5 on that list.

 

Be taught to stand UP to this bully .

 

Words. Incredible weapon but you need to know how to handle them(every sentence you write, add a bit spice, show off that you are above bullying).

Stay away from negative words, unless you have a short fuse.

 

I was severely abused by people on the Internet several times before.

I'm telling you: Most people on the Internet are emotionless narcissists.

If the Internet gets shuts down one day I'll be a lot happier since most of the content on the Internet is garbage anyway.

 

You know... you have the power to do that - for yourself...

However, all the internet really is is a library with porn. It's all about sharing information, and that, really, will not change until we die out as a species (and probably because we shared something that someone else managed to weaponise against their enemies which then backfired, IMHO)

much like IRL, this mostly depends on where you go and how you respond to what is posted/said/etc. - so it's situational in most cases, IMHO.
even a generally nice person can be perceived as an emotionless narcissist when you're on a subject that they're fanatical about, and this site really does reinforce that opinion in spades.

the internet is like TV - if you don't like the programming, turn the channel or turn it off.
if you prefer the library analogy, you can just skip the [insert name here] section and go straight to your favourite author, genre or section (etc). the internet is even better at avoiding the worst places than a library because you can tailor your results easier

That's not bullying - that is good advice. If the Internet is making you unhappy, stop using it and you will be happier. Good outcome for you. You even admitted you wanted that to happen. Go for it.

The take-way is: you are not helpless. You have choices. And you make them.

That is kind of exactly the opposite of bullying.

The key is: why complain about a choice you yourself have made?

 

It's because most of the people on the Internet are very bad people.

I've been ghosted, ignored, banned, abused and been given warnings on countless times I've been on Internet forums.

Many people on the Internet are abusive jerks and that's why I say fuck the Internet and most of the people on it.

 

So, why are you here complaining about the internet for the umteen time?
Who is forcing you to go on the web?

Maybe, since it has happened so often, in so many forums, the problem is not other people but........ you.

I, for example, find your continual, self-obsessed whining and self-pity fairly tiresome. You long ago exhausted what limited stock of sympathy I have. You have provided no evidence at all that you have tried to do anything constructive about your predicament, whatever it is. I don't what you expect from these exchanges. The issue is in your hands, no one else's.

 

I am tired of being an ugly loser that no one will ever take seriously.

I also have proof that I'm ugly and worthless loser: no reasonably attractive girl ever wants to talk to me and they don't even look at me, instead they ignore me and walk pass me as if I don't even exist.

The way things are going for me I will be probably die alone as an 100 year-old kissless virgin who has never even spoken one word to a girl, unless I stop everything and just kill myself for the better.
