    Did you feel it's power?

Anyways I have stopped that scam and making the squares four inch by four inch with a note how to use it in a practical application...you can see why the believers trust me now.

I don't believe it..I finally got motivated and went to assemble my mount and found I have left a box of important bits in the city such that I can't do a thing....mmm maybe see what can be done...anyways first time in maybe fifty trips.
I hope I didn't back the car over it as I do recall it at the back of the car.

    Dear exchemist,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Covid-19. Very glad you made it through as well as you did. Did your sense of taste and smell ever come back? Please let us know when you have a chance. Thank you.

Oddly enough I was just about to post an update. It is now 19 days since I had sufficient symptoms to think I had got it. I had lost all symptoms apart from a very slowly returning sense of smell and taste and occasional tiredness.

However last night I had another slightly restless night and today I felt distinctly shaky, with some roughness in my larynx and perhaps bronchi as well, as a very slight return of the dry cough, a bit of an ache again in the upper back, and feeling hot from time to time but without an actual fever. My doctor brother, interestingly, reports almost identical sensations - and he had what he thought was the virus before I did.

So it rather looks as if either this thing can hang around and take another pop at you, or else the post-viral effects can drag on for a considerable time. I don't feel really bad, just not quite right. Anyway, evidently I am not out of the woods yet.

Numbers of cases continue to apparently level out in Australia.
And my doctor gave me an earful yesterday when I went for my annual flu injection...insisted that at my age, i should not be shopping...Hmmm Then the next door neighbour knocked on the door this morning asking if I or the Mrs needed help. I thanked her profusely and answered no. If anything it should have been me visiting here asking her if she needed assistance with three little brats to handle and all home from school!!!...I still reason and accept that I take enough precautions.

Hey! Are they going to use this as an excuse to put all the elders under house-arrest?
They figure we'll still bolster the economy by mail-order shopping - out of sheer boredom, if nothing else! - and free up all those prime parking spots.

@ exchemist, I'm sorry to hear you were so ill. I didn't know that. Glad to see you've turned the corner. Interesting you had no sense of smell or taste? Hmm.

That seems to be a unique symptom of this virus. Somebody suggested using Google queries like "Why can't I smell?" to track clusters of new cases. Problems: It's not an early enough symptom. The early ones: fever, aching joints, cough and SOB are common to all influenzas. By the time that becomes a diagnostic symptom, the outbreak is already obvious.

I am charmed by your concern, wegs, but in fact I was not very ill at all. See post 35 and my subsequent daily reports on my condition.

Anosmia, as it is called, seems to be very common with Covid-19, reported in >30% of cases, I understand. What distinguishes it is that it occurs abruptly, within the space of a few hours, and in my case was unaccompanied by any irritation or blockage in the nose and sinuses. This is now day 15 since I lost it and I think it is only about 40-50% returned. I had at least 10 days when I could not taste or smell anything at all, apart from the 4 sensations from the tongue: sweet, salt, sour, bitter.

Today by the way I am better than yesterday, so it does not look as if I am going to have a relapse , as I feared when I wrote post 153. But I am taking things very easy until I am 100% sure I've shaken it off. I do not want to go the Bozo route and end up in intensive care.

Just wondering whether the measures we are taking to combat the spread of this virus could be catching any other illnesses as a bi-product.

Has anyone noticed any reduction in other ailments that might conceivably be caused by different viruses?

I presume that cases of the common cold have plumetted in the present environment.

Are there any other infections caused by different viruses (or bacteria) that may be taking a back seat for now?

I don't think I got the coronavirus yet ,although there was a strange cold that lasted a little while back in January ,but I find all colds tend to be a little different anyway.
