From heatwaves and fires to floods and snow, 2019 was a big year of weather.

It wasn't just hot and dry, it smashed the records.

Australia's average maximum daytime temperatures really sizzled — last year was 2.09 degrees Celsius above the 1961-to-1990 average, smashing the previous record by half a degree.

Dr Karl Braganza, the Bureau of Meteorology's head of climate monitoring, said it was the first time an annual anomaly had been two degrees above average.

Annual mean temperatures were also the highest on record for the country as a whole, at 1.52C above average.

and this year is already on target for being worse yet again..

Average temp up 1.52 C in only 12 months not millions of years... duh!

So uhm... What is your theory on what is causing this incredibly and anomalous ( only 150+ years) rapid and accelerating heating up that the world is experiencing?

How is few million years of climate change being compressed into a mere 200 odd years?

It means something to the people who live in it. I mean, you could use that rationale to try to excuse the Jonestown Massacre, the Holocaust, serial killings. . . . .your shirking of responsibility just doesn't work for any rational person.
Spoken like an arrogant, out of touch elitist. Just hop on a jet!

a big noisey pimped out jet that uses massive amounts of fuel and makes huge amounts of noise...
with laser lights and disco balls on the outside so it looks like a traveling super nova dance party that breaks the windows of all the houses it flys over

which government will be the first to replace all government cars with electric cars ?

why doesn't someone rate all the government elected officials in the world by how much pollution of travel fuel they use and wasted resources on luxury life styles paid for by the tax payer ...
and then do one of all the rich elitists and then make them compete

    TV reality
the dirtiest most selfish world polluting celebrity(elected official)

    ... serious question
why is there soo much apologist tone around avoiding fuel-shaming
... ? because if people stop buying plastic shit for their kids online then the global economy falls apart ?

perma frost methane sink releases seems to be the boogie man in the closet

i was hoping some mining companies might have got together with groups like nasa and built rovers that sniff for methane by now, but it seems its just a free-for-all off the cliff as the world burns.

maybe Russia will step up and lead the world in this department and have Robot Drone Sniffer survey robots in the arctic checking for methane and testing snow and air etc.

Sorry, have been busy with family health issues..

Air quality in our nation's capital at the start of this year:

    https://www.sbs.com.au/news/canberr...n-the-world-as-bushfire-smoke-shrouds-capital

When I wrote that post, the air quality in Sydney and South East Queensland was just as bad.

The city where I live, the day before I made that post above:

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-12...on-how-our-lives-will-need-to-change/11761098

And it had cleared up quite a bit by then.

    Sydney:

    https://www.timeout.com/sydney/news...e-city-chokes-on-record-breaking-smoke-121019

    Rainforests burning:

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-10...ge-in-gold-coast-rainforest-revealed/11567574

Everything is so dry now, they are becoming arid.

Even the people who live in the tropical north, have been told that the rainforests up north which have never burned before, is now at risk of going up in flames and in some parts, has already burned..

    https://www.theguardian.com/austral...-burned-for-10-days-and-almost-no-one-noticed

Birds falling out of trees and whatnot from the heat we have been experiencing:

    https://www.news.com.au/national/ns...e/news-story/b6a92ee1e22cc99a2ba888aaf1e2cf92

Bushfire season started in September for Queensland and Northern New South Wales and the bushfire crisis is what you are seeing today in the news:

    https://www.theguardian.com/austral...d-bushfires-extreme-season-now-the-new-normal

In other words, we have been burning since September of last year.

And the reason Queensland and Northern New South Wales had such bad fires at the start of September is because it was so hot and dry over winter.

How big is your house? How about I move my family into your house and use up all your stuff. You're cool with that, yes? You know, if we all have to migrate and whatnot...

If you believe that humans have no impact on this planet, then all I can say is continue to bask in your ignorance.

"Extinction Rebellion: Counter-terrorism police list group as 'extremist' in guide"

Is that just a one off or a sign of things to come?

"Counter-terrorism police in south-east England have admitted an "error of judgement" after listing Extinction Rebellion as an "extreme ideology"." is that admission through grated teeth? Are they biding their time?

    They do.
Here's a selection from the first page of a first attempt at a keyword search - the first step anyone would take who was interested in a topic like that:
    https://www.sciencedaily.com/terms/sulfur_hexafluoride.htm
    https://www.climate-change-guide.com/sulfur-hexafluoride-definition.html
    https://www.ec.gc.ca/toxiques-toxic...C6-1&xml=F8C4713B-DB7D-491D-8913-0088E40C06C7
    https://www.explainingclimatechange.ca/lesson6/6_5_3.html
    https://www.quora.com/How-damaging-is-SF6-to-the-climate
    And Wiki itself: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulfur_hexafluoride
Why don't Tribe members ever read stuff and become better informed - or at least factcheck their bs before spreading it around?

    Nice of you to offer.
There's about 20 million Chinese getting ready to take you up on your generosity, sometime in the next ten or fifteen years. Also a few million in India, same timeline. Since it's in your lifetime, probably, it won't mean anything to you - so: How big is your yard?
