This is a common naive concept: Consciousness is essentially the little man sitting in a chair behind your eyes, watching a giant screen upon which events and memories are projected. "The Theatre of the Mind". It's been debunked.
Yes. Possibly like you and James, I confess I do not the "problem" about consciousness. If one thinks of the brain as working like a computer, consciousness would seem to be not a thing but an activity of the brain, akin to the activity of the operating system on a computer. It seems to me that treating consciousness as a "thing", rather than as an activity, is making a category error.
Why am I aware? You are aware because you have sensory input;;; consciousness comes wit bein evolved to the pont of makin the conection between cause an effect.!!! Perty simple... really.!!!
the self presumes to be so there for it is Ego the Ego reflects its own sense of self back at the self Existence is the self "being" "awareness" is the self recognizing other aspects that have self to them. i think this is roughly what in a somewhat mildly binary construct that the self must have existence to come to awareness. this relates to a question i posed in another thread asking opinion towards the difference between psychology, philosophy & quantum physics theory. i suspect may be quietly pondering this or it was completely lost/missed or ignored.

I am aware of being aware of things from behind my eyes. therefore my awareness of things exists behind my eyes from its own perspective.
and the reason I think awareness is existence is because: the awareness of things is the existence of things, to the individual who is aware of these things. e.g. awareness of the image of a rock is the existence of the image of a rock to the person who sees it. so, awareness of things=existence of things. so awareness=existence.
and the reason I think you exist as electrons inside of your head is because there is a correlation between the inhibition of electron mobility by an anesthetic and its efficiency. the more efficient it is, the more efficient it is at inhibiting electron mobility. that's the gist of why I think you exist as electrons anyway. mobile states of these electrons could pertain to various sensations.
Post 23. When asked what physical thing embodies consciousness, your response was electrons. If electrons embody consciousness, then do you propose that rocks - which have electrons - are conscious? So, again, it is your assertion that rocks are conscious, is it?
these electrons exist inside of enclosed pockets, they must because: xenon works as an anesthetic by dipole-dipole interaction at the atomic scale. xenon is worse at inducing anesthesia if is nucleus is spinning. and its nucleas spinning effects the angle and intensity of the exertion of positive charge by the atom. so, this indicates that xenon works by the exertion of positive charge at the atomic level, probably in a dipole-dipole interaction. I just think that that is what human awareness is made of specifically, electrons interacting with a body. but yea, I think that rocks have awareness because I think that everything does.
OK, maybe it would be a good time to concentrate on this as a core issue, rather than the larger context. Because if you assert that rocks are conscious then you are applying the term very differently than everyone else here. There is little point in discussing the mechanism for consciousness if we can't even agree whether rocks do or do not have it.
