Time travel is not a mechanical thing , energy nor matter thing . Time travel is a biological , living experience . Inotherwords , it is the biological living entities that experience time travel , not the Universe it's self .
I have been time travelling for 72 years and it is much different now than how it was in the past...the problem is I can't go back to where I started. Alex

If memory qualifies as time travel, then so do my reruns of Judge Judy. They're looking at things that happened in the past, but they can't a] see anything new that wasn't captured at the time of recording b] influence anything. No, recordings (whether via transistors or neurons) are not time travel.
Of course, now that we've established that memories, music and video recordings are all "forms of time travel" in some abstract way, we now need a new term to distinguish these abstract forms of time travel from actually travelling through time. It's a pity that 'time travelling' and 'travelling through time' are already taken, because they would be perfect terms for - well - time travelling and travelling through time.
How about, "Traversing?" All living beings are travelling through time. Recalling a memory is a way to revert to that moment.

No. Plants service the animals. But does that mean grass has no memory? I think it does. If you stand on a bunch of grass, go back the next day, some grass will spring up and be in exactly the same position it was in before you stood on it. I think life is a neverending story.

Indeed . Physically . Other plants do it bio-chemically . Mushrooms , create a form of communication between Trees , for example . Bio-chemicals that are released in the air upon insect attack by one tree to others , one warns the many .
I would say that all flora have a memory of where Sunlight will come/comes from. But River seems to be core-rect: time is within biological en-tities. For example, should a creature traverse time, it may look as follows; 2--- --/ -/ / ---1 Traversing someone's timeline from one to two should look as above. Doing "nothing" (I.e. being noone) allows a being "everything"; they have a choice of how to live.
