If you Don't Stand for Something, you will fall for Anything. is this a modern day psychological paradigm ? has the meaning changed ? do modern retirees relate to this ? how do they manifest this as a facet of their ideology for culture & society ? i think this saying is misrepresented in modern pop-psychology(deliberately) the premise of the meaning comes from a forced moral absolute of a bi-polar world.
It's not a paradigm. What has this got to do with modern retirees? They don't "manifest this". This sounds like something from the "Reader's Digest" of my childhood.
"oh no its not" is not an educated debate "oh no its not" is also not a reasoned definition of why not. "Readers Digest" of your childhood was a heavily indoctrinated christian free publication designed to spread Christianity. it was modernized and made to appear quite secular to try and appeal to an evolving modern scientifically conscious audience. your "childhood Readers Digest" was specifically religious propaganda and you saying "oh no it isn't" to change the subject doesn't make it suddenly change.
I don't disagree with you about Reader's Digest (other than it wasn't free). As far a "paradigm" all you need is a dictionary.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradigm politics & sociology Social engineering, social Trends, custom & culture Laws ... just because you cant wrap your mind around it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Your Direction of the concept is narrowing down the parameters into a definition that already exists in your own mind & by that virtue disregarding it as non scientific. thus applying a semi scientific method to invalidate something that is general science... i posted this in free thoughts because i wanted people to be able t post their thoughts. currently you are just saying "no" to something rather than offering any ideas or reason. it is Sociological Psychology Anthropology on a different note it was my understanding that Readers Digest WAS free for a while and sought donations to avoid taxation. they sent their un solicited religious propaganda to people forcing them to interact. they then used a system of guilt and social compliance to force people to interact. they later defined the cost of each item after some government regulation. they would always send 1 or 2 items deemed by their literature to be "free" and then requested you ten work for them for free by going to the trouble of posting the material back to them if you were not interested. highly unscrupulous behavior for a religious organisation maybe not soo in the bible belt where religious ideology is deemed social law in spite of national federal laws(much like most other countrys). Sociological Psychology Anthropology (psychological anthropology) is that a subject you read on ?
You might be thinking of "Guidepost" or something like that. That was published by Dr. Normal Vincent Peale (as I recall). It was Christian, was published on a weekly basis and was donation based I think.
