I nearly forgot to mention vampire 'lore. There's something mysterious, strange ...yet dangerous about these creatures. From what I've read, once you become a vampire, everything is ''amped up.'' All of your senses become heightened...smell, taste, hearing. Living forever could be pretty cool too...you just keep traveling through new trends, and eras. If only it weren't just lore.......... My favorite Greek myth was Elvira. She was the Queen of Nonsense. You might remember her as the God who insisted that the Earth was square, Night was the absence of Day and all was described by the equation E=N-D
Accused of making up a myth...you've mortally wounded me Wegs and what did I ever do to you! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
It's all good ...this is after all the myth/lore/legend thread. Making things up is actually ...okay. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Why does Zeus, Poseidon & Hermes have no penis ? are they girls ? & why dont any of them wear pants ? must be hard to get health insurance
Sometimes, I wish that fairy tales came true, and enchanted forests were real. When we were kids, we believed all this, until we didn't. I miss that whimsical thinking......maybe 'lore, legends and myths are necessary in some small way, to keep our imaginations alive. Never know. Maybe one day, I'll wake up...with wings of an angel, ready to take off. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I think we can stay with reality and still exercise our imaginations. IMO, it's not necessary that we actually believe it. It's enough to entertain the though or to imagine what it would be like if these things did exist. When I was a kid and my mother would read children's books to me while I looked at the pictures (age 3?) and followed along with some of the words. I liked Aladdin and magic carpets but even then I don't think I actually thought they were real. It was just easier to entertain those thoughts. When I was a little older, maybe 5 or 6. The neighborhood kids would sit outside at night in the summer and look up at the stars and the Moon. We might say "I wonder what the Moon is made of"? Someone might say "cheese" and we would laugh and then say "well, it might, who knows...there might be a man up there as well". We knew that these things weren't likely but we weren't sure because we didn't know much about how the world works at that age. I can't remember if I ever really thought "fairies" were real though.
Are we ever really "sure"? Maybe that's a topic for another thread. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
hahaha omg...yes. Thread title - are you ever really sure? Sure about what? (asks the first poster) I don't know...but are we ever really sure? (I reply) It keeps going on like that. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Forever.
Someone will want to define "sure". Someone (me) will question "forever" as being an infinity and I don't think infinities in time and space exist. Someone will post a word or two that makes no sense. Someone else will post a disjointed page of words that make no sense. Iceaura will come along with an answer he is sure of and will insult you if you don't agree and then he and Sarkas are off to the races with a back and forth posting style that will go on for months. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
lmao You must post it. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! If for no other reason, than to see if your predictions come true.
